Copenhagen 9/7 2021. 75 cl corked bottle from Mikkeller and Friends bottleshop, Torvehallerne, Kbh. K. Red label in Baghaven’s usual design with drawing of a industrial building housing the brewery. Blend 1.
Pours unclear pale yellow with a big bubbly white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a tart scent. Yeasty notes peeking in. Sweet wheat, lemonade and white sugar. Tart gooseberries and a light touch of vinegar.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a medium strong tart sourness. Aftertaste is tart and a bit thin. Lingers for a bit. Finish is dry.
Solid Saison with a yeasty touch but I had expected a bit more spiciness from the Emmer wheat.
