Copenhagen 19/11 2023. 33 cl can from Superbrugsen, Nørrebrogade, Kbh. N. Drawing of a Brunette getting a blonde hair dye on the can.
Pours unclear golden yellow with a big white head. Stable. Settles as uneven, lumpy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet fruity odor mingling with tart notes. Sweet orange, white sugar and a touch of coriander. Whiff of tart lemon.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lively, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a light sourness. Aftertaste is sweet with a tart undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Wit bier with no surprises except it is a bit on the sweet side.

I bought this from Mikeller & Friends Bottle Shop in Copenhagen's Norreport Market. (Incidentally, a great place to buy beer as the selection is hugely larger than M's brews. Besides, I have not been able to find a bottle shop even close to this quality in the two weeks I've been here... I think it takes someone like Mikkeller to bend the rules and traditions, IMHO.)
As for Blanche, she Looks great (a big, full foamy blonde... a little on the side of dishwater, but that never stopped me.) As for Smells, not so good; I detect no distinction, minimal fruit. Tastes are better, some complexity in how the minimal fruit gives way to a semi-dry finish. Light in my mouth, but still refreshing and soft.
To improve Blanche, try jacking up the yeast to kick up more fruit. Also add a few traditional spices.
As for my high Overall Hugs, it is not for this yet-to-show-accomplishment wit. Rather, it is for Mikkeller; the master phantom brewer. Skoal !

Pours hazy light gold. Mild head, slightly creamy feel. Mild carbonation. Not overly complex, grains and yeast with citrus zest. Tastes good, orange and creamy hops. Bready finish. Nice.

330 ml can, as Mikkeller Blanche de Mikkeller Witbier. ABV is 5.0%. Moderately hazy golden colour, large to moderate white head. Disappointing aroma of dust and stale jam. The flavour is better, citric with some acidity, orange peel and coriander seeds, noticeable hops.
