Pours golden yellow with nice white foamy very receding cap. Notes of citrus pine and hops make this a nice American IPA at 7.2%abv. A bit perfume like but hell… Cheers anyhow.

From a can. Trader Joe's selection.

Pours a clear golden with sloppy bubbly foaming. Dank and piney aroma, heavy grapefruit pith note on the palate. Fun drinker.

Still not a Pizza Port IPA fan, but hot damn I’m going to keep trying them. Picked up this one on the way home from a work trip. Pizza Port’s website described it as, “Surfari IPA is a re-imagining of a classic West Coast style IPA. With a traditional hop profile, expect bursting flavors of citrus, specifically lemon, and pine with an ample amount of tropical fruit. Be on the lookout for subtle notes of biscuit and honey to balance that big hop flavor. This IPA is sure to have your taste buds riding a wave of delicious expedition.” Hops mentioned on the can were Nelson, Southern Cross, Crystal and Centennial.

Poured a golden, clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of off-white frothy head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass at a high rate of speed and at a slower speed along the sides of the glass. Outstanding lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled melon, vegetable, herbal, pine, lemon, honey, caramel, viney berry and hints of grapefruit. Out of the hops mentioned, I guess Southern Cross would lead the way, followed by Nelson and Centennial, but neither really stood out. Smell followed in the can as well. (Smell - 3.75)

Taste was almost as good. Lots of stuff going on here, but not that appealing initially. In order got herbal, pine, vegetable, melon, honey, caramel, Southern Cross, viney berry, bitter grapefruit peel, and hints of Nelson and Centennial. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Pretty much like every Pizza Port IPA I’ve had. Very good, but nothing spectacular. (Overall - 3.75)

Subdued, mellow. A very laid back IPA.
There is a lot going on with this beer, but it's all in the background.
Biscuity sweetness and a push of hoppy fruitiness. It's all the but you just gotta go looking for it.
Damn good!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little nice lacing.

S: Bright, mix of all the fruits from grapes to exotic tropical and orchard fruit, slightly dank herbal notes, floral, a little pine, crackery malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.

T: Super interesting, white grape, exotic tropical and stone fruit, gooseberry, passion fruit, apricot, mango, lychee, peach, faint melon, and a little cherry and plum thing that comes out as it warms, resinous pine, citrus, lemon and orange, floral, underlying herbal slightly dank notes, a hint of bubble gum, crackery malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, maybe just a touch on the lighter side, moderate carbonation.

O: This one is hitting all the right buttons for me. (Seems like stuff that's more Nelson and less Citra heavy has been doing that a lot recently.) Great complexity and balance. I would love to see this one become a regular.

Not a fan, sorry. Nose is off and smells similar to skunk weed. Taste was pepper forward with decent bitterness. Not sure if keg was old or if the skunky is meant to be.

Clear golden amber brew with a long-lasting white cap of foam in the Affligem chalice. Lovely aroma of pineapple and citrus. Intensely hoppy with flavors of mango, pine, and some green melon. Moderate bitter aftertaste. Some malty sweetness to balance, but crisp overall.

Such a clean taste that allows the hoppy flavors to shine forth. A huge mouthful of fruit. This is another winner in Pizza Port's long series of non-hazy, good ol' IPAs. Since they always feature surf breaks or surf terms let's hope they stay firmly West Coast. From the16 oz can purchased at Liticker's Liquor in Ocean Beach.

New canned release from Pizza Port. Hops- Nelson, Southern Cross, Crystal, Centennial. Enjoyable flavor, although at 7.2% not quite as full as I would expect. Flavors and bitterness disappear quickly on the back end which makes it go down easy. Overall another satisfying, very drinkable Pizza Port IPA.
