West Coast style IPA with a medium body and a dry finish. Brewed with Bohemian Pilsner, this beer offers a light golden color and balanced malt character to help usher in the hops. Generous amounts of Citra and Motueka give aromas of fresh citrus and tropical fruit while the flavor profile zeroes in on lemon, peach, and passion fruit

Price: $2.34
From: Trader Joe’s in College Area (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 30, 2021
Consumed: July 31, 2021
Misc.: Canned on June 24, 2021 at 6:59 p.m. PT
Grabbed six singles and a 6-pack of Coronado Weekend Vibes at the campus Trader Joe’s on the way home from work. Pizza Port’s website called it a “West Coast style IPA with a medium body and a dry finish. Brewed with Bohemian Pilsner, this beer offers a light golden color and balanced malt character to help usher in the hops. Generous amounts of Citra and Motueka give aromas of fresh citrus and tropical fruit while the flavor profile zeroes in on lemon, peach, and passion fruit.” Mentioned hops were Citra, Motueka, Nelson and Mosaic.
Poured a medium yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy white head. Could see some random bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. World-class uneven spiderweb lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled dank weed, sticky resin, pine, lime, herbal, menthol, Motueka, Citra, grapefruit rind, grass and caramel malt. A little better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose but close. In order got dank weed, sticky resin, pine, lime, herbal, menthol, Motueka, Citra, grapefruit rind, mango, tangerine, passion fruit, wet grass, a touch of Mosaic and caramel malt. Wasn’t really getting any Nelson. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Wow. Really liked this. I tend to think Pizza Port IPAs are a bit overrated, but this was outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

Pours golden in color with a VERY white head. Nice lacing as well. Nose is dank as it should be. Taste is piney resinous and bitter, again as it should be. Love how as it fades there is a slight bready taste, but then the bite grips the back of tongue.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Vibrant citrus mixed with tropical and stone fruit, resinous pine, slightly floral, a bit grassy, bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Zesty citrus, lime, lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine, tropical and stone fruit, peach, mango, papaya, apricot, lychee, passion fruit, and a hint of melon, floral, resinous pine, bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
M:A little on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: I'm not in love with how this hop combo came together, but it's still a solid West Coast IPA.

Canned on 6/15, consumed on 7/26/21. Pours an almost crystal clear light orange with perhaps the merest hint of chill haze. Nice fluffy, voluminous, dense, white head that slowly dissipates producing a highly contoured surface as it recedes. Some lacing, but not very extensive. Smell is fairly faint tropical fruit with hops. taste is similar. fairly bitter compared to many fruit-forward IPAs. Mild carbonation in the mouth with medium body. Quite pleasant although for my personal preference it may be a little bit much on the Matueka hops and bit on the hoppy/bitter side, but that is very personal and subjective. I think this one does a nice job of meeting the west coast style without being over-the-top bitter.

Clear amber brew with abundant foam in the Duvel tulip. Pleasant sudsy mouthfeel with plenty of carbonation. Malty and just slightly sweet with a tangy edge to balance. Aroma of citrus and pine. Flavors of mango and lemon, some bread, and a substantial grapefruit finish.
Moderate bitter aftertaste for a lasting mouthful of flavor. Another excellent America IPA from PP. From the 16 oz can. Different April and May 2021 dates on the two six-packs I purchased at the San Clemente restaurant.

Packaged on 5/27/21, consumed on 7/3/21. Poured from a tall boy can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.
Clear, pale amber/citrine body with three fingers of off white soft peaks.
Zesty, citrus forward aromatics. Faint pils malt in the nose as well.
Medium dry crisp pallet entry with plenty of pils character. Medium bitterness with tangerine, lime, and unripe lemon from the hops. Medium dry herbaceous finish. Nicely balanced.
Good, drinkable IPA, with elements of APAs or hoppy lagers as well.

Very typical west coast IPA which is a good thing. Nothing stands out but nothing wrong with it either. Piney, very light in colour, not much depth.

About as West Coast as it’s gonna get. A Double Double at In N Out; a platinum blonde driving a Tesla in Newport Beach that her sugar daddy got her; or the Dodgers winning the World Series, yeah, you have Southern California in a can with this one.
See ya.
