Bottled on 2/11/2019; consumed on 8/3/2022
Pours a viscous, motor-oil black body topped with two and a half fingers of hazelnut-hued foam; great head retention leaves a half-finger of creamy cap, slim, frothy collar, and a haphazard spatter of webby lacing dotted across the walls of the glass.
Aroma offers a healthy roast profile guiding to milk chocolate and a subtle, interwoven char upfront, with soft barrel vanillins and port-imbued raspberry tones over the middle sparking dark cocoa and a quasi-plummy infusion of lingering whiskey on the back end of the bouquet.
Taste presents a familiarly ample roast profile with residual char lingering through wispy port undertones; spent coffee grounds build to milk and bakers chocolate washing over the mid-palate as oak-tinged darker cocoa lingers to a plummy exhale on the finish.
Mouthfeel brings a medium body and a clean fluff of moderate carbonation to silky texture and peaking with a creamy mid-palate; underlying grit peeks through on the back end with shades of char to counter a mild, booziness on the finish.
Deftly interwoven port plays clever foil to Voodoo's classic, roast-heavy base, imparting oakier waves of dark fruit inference against the fervent roast and quietly expressive barrel profile.

Viscous glossy black with a fluffy tan head of moderate thickness settling to a creamily thick and curled collar.
The nose invites quite a bit of contemplation as I sit on the varnished pallets here at the always chill Compound. It's intensely woody of a neutral oak that's got a peppery heat somewhat resembling hickory, while also imparting a port influence that is quite apparent, bringing notes of savory red wine grape and dark fruits with nutty yet milky accents.
Taste flips script right up front with rich chocolate that clings on for a good clip before fading into its woody oak. Again, it's splintery yet nutty accents that emerge first, subtly giving way to port undertones of deep dark wine grape, spiced date and a hint of cigar smoke.
The frothy medium body is actually quite delicate on palate, an unexpected feat for such a hairy beast. The finish is powder dry with a mild warmth.
It's much different than Rye Zangief, with a kind of a funky quality to the unique casking, and while it doesn't quite reach the heights of some of their other BRC bottles, it was still very uniquely enjoyable.

Зангиеф - пивоварня вуду - тпру!
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like earthy port, heavy roast, chocolate bark, espresso shots, boozy whiskey, barrel char, molasses, and vanilla.
These port/whiskey barrels are quite cool. The port sweetness tempers the very bitter and very burly base beer. There's lots of super dark chocolate here, some smoke, tobacco, booze, rye, etc. It's hot, but not overly so, and doesn't detract for me, personally.
This is medium bodied, pretty rich, and fairly creamy. It's certainly a very slow sipper.
This is a pretty serious beer. It's very very tasty.
