Clear copper/amber color with a moderate foamy off white head, good retention and some nice lacing.
The aroma is caramel malt.
The taste is caramel malt, dark toasted bread, pecans, herbal hops. It starts mildly sweet, finishes dry with some herbal and burnt toast bitterness, but still mild.
The body is medium, good carbonation, crisp and drinkable.
Altogether this is a decent example ot the style.

Poured from a can. Amber in color with large tan head. Smells of malt, a vegetable smell. Bread, malt and a vegetable hint of some kind in the flavor. Green pepper maybe, not pleasant. This is drinkable but I wouldn't get one again.

On tap. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of roasted malt, toffee and caramel. Nice roasty taste with a subtle bitterness.

From an aluminum can, this brew is a rich amber color with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is malty, with a grist and caramel, bread and toast quality. The taste is sweet, with a firm malt backbone and enough bitterness to balance the edges. Full and creamy in body. It feels like a bigger beer than it is. This is a style that was once ubiquitous, but seems forgotten today. This was a solidly good example.

Pours a clear amber color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, slight caramel malt, hint of nut, slight alcohol, and a hint of tea. Fits the style of an American Amber / Red Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight caramel malt, hint of nut, slight alcohol, and a hint of tea. Overall, better then the KC Pale Ale, but still not better than average.
