Dark amber with leggy ivory. 3.75
Some candied orange with deep honey. 3.5
Thread of spun sugar, a ton orange canned orange slices, pine sap and burnt grass. 3.75
Round, sticky, almost medium. 4
Blast of citrus, smooth, and buries the ABV. But almost one note, and with some oxidation (which, considering 11th is out already, can't be a shock.) An old school DIPA that could be fresher. 4

Poured a golden honey color with a 3F head in a Tulip glass. Nice looking beer. Took a while to resolve.
The aroma is stronger with warming. Sweet, intense pine.
MF: excellent. Smooth and creamy unlike most DIPAs.
Taste: superb. Intense pine, sweet, malty with a very hoppy finish balanced with a smooth creamy MF.
This is a stand out DIPA. A Tulip is best for a full flavor experience. The balance between the deep pine, sweetness, and creamy, smooth MF IS excellent.

Cloudy, amber to brown color. Lasting, but small head. Nice streaks and semi-blanketing effect after the initial ring of lace.
Fresh green hop start to the smell but I get some residual cardboard. A touch berry and flowers.
Rich body gives the malt a chance in the tasting but the hop bomb comes quickly and strongly. The aftertaste goes forever. I get some alcohol warmth in the finish.

22 oz bottle, 10 year anniversary ale. Pours slightly hazy copper gold with a big creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is subdued - some sweet malt, a little fruit and piney peppery hops.
The flavor is a little sweet caramel malt and fruit followed by a lot of fairly harsh tarry piney resiny hops with a lingering bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a bit of an abrasive hop bomb, but decent.

Taste: medium to very bitter with sweet aftertaste
Palate: lively carbonation with long finish, some tartness
Overall: Very India pale ale ok to repeat and look for

Crystal-clear golden hued body; nice amount of carbonation; thick, rocky, white head; bits of lacing along the glass. Rather faint pine tar aroma; some heavy malt grain sweetness. The taste is fairly low-key, as well; some typical West Coast IPA sweetness and a large hop bitterness, but little alcohol for an 11.0% ABV. Heavy body; slightly prickly on the tongue; initial sweetness with a somewhat dry finish.
There was no dating on the bottle and I suppose, for an IIPA, it's past its prime, yet I still would imagine a bigger aroma and taste presence than what I experienced with this tasting. This is a good IPA overall, and definitely lets you know that there is (was) a huge hop presence, yet everything has really mellowed out. Well, better late than never...
