Clear bright yellow with plenty of foam in the Duvel tulip. Hot with alcohol and pleasantly sudsy. Aroma is grilled pineapple and mango. Moderate bitterness creeps in to the finish. There's pencil shavings in the aftertaste. Fruity with juniper and pine notes. Dark berries with some stems.
If you want to make a strong hoppy brew, this is one good way to do it. It's like a malt liqueur but not sugary. The alcohol wafts the hoppy fumes straight to the brain. From the convenient extra tall can purchased somewhere in San Diego. It seems to have aged well, being in the refrigerator for several months.

Golden pour. Okay head.
Faint aroma of mostly bread/ cracker, some malt.
Taste is like the smell. Ends dry. Not much fruit at all. Boozy, peppery. Maybe lemon zest hints.
Mouthfeel is reasonably full. After a little while it sits appearing flat in my glass.
Lacks, lacks, lacks. What happened with this can of beer that appealed to me while visiting family in NJ? Of course I wanted to like it. The description is even lazy. Not long for this to be a drain pour.

I'm simply a Socal hop head living in one of the greatest beer capitals ever. I totally disagree with the previous negative reviews. If you appreciate strong hop forward, full body, IPA's that have the skill to eliminate the pine forest aftertaste, this is a beer for you. I enjoyed mine with a bowl of my own infamous guacamole and it was fantastic. Full body, not overly complex, perfectly carbonated, dry, hoppy but not bitter finish. I would buy this beer again

Type: 22-oz. bottle
Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
From: Costco in La Mesa, Calif.
Price: $5.99
Purchased: May 27, 2019
Consumed: June 7, 2019
Reviewed as: American Double / Imperial IPA
Misc.: No bottled on date
Had my wife pick this up on a recent trip to Costco. Had generally enjoyed this series, giving No. 6 a 4.16 on June 25, 2012, No. 7 a 4.00 on Aug. 2, 2013, No. 8 a 3.79 on May 12, 2014 and No. 10 a 4.22 on June 15, 2016. So that’s an average of 4.04. Hoping this is around that, but reviewing without looking at any of the others. Looked like the hops were Amarillo, CTZ, Citra, Centennial and Mosaic.
Poured a dark amber-to-copper clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of off-white frothy head. Tons of fast moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Almost perfect uneven foamy lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Citra, Mosaic and Columbus for the hops. Also orange, tangerine, pine, cedar, peach skin and floral. (Smell - 4.00)
No hiding that 11 pct. ABV was the first thing I noticed on the taste. Also got Columbus, Amarillo, orange, tangerine, pine, cedar, herbal, Mosaic, floral and Citra. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Clean finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Another good anniversary Port beer. (Overall - 4.00)

Excellent crisp, balanced, moderately dank double IPA with great flavors and aromas. Pours a slightly amber-orange color with some fluffy white head that fades to a nice cap and sheets of lingering lacing that lasted a while. Smells of some fresh tropical fruit - grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, mango, papaya - as well as some weaker malt, floral hops and caramel. Taste follows the nose. Lots of bread and vanilla in the background, great amount of bitter dankness which made the beer nice and refreshing. Smooth, slightly sticky, mild mouthfeel and good carbonation. Excellent soft feel and great balance.

Pours a nice amberish gold...not much head. Translucent.
Nose is tropical....guava, papaya....think sweet, not sour fruit (pineapple)
Fair malt presence, again the sweet citrus profile, with bitterness of orange rind
Nice level of astringency, the 11% alcohol is well hidden....it’s not oily. Well done here.

Clear, dark gold body; lively carbonation; decent head, soapy and frothy with some foam clinging to the glass. Dank and spicy hop aroma; earthy; old citrus pith. Strong taste, almost medicinal; peppermint; almost brutally bitter; phenolic; burnt rubber. Heavy body; harsh with a strong, overpowering alcohol burn; dry.
At first I thought this beer would be okay. It looks great and doesn't smell bad, but the more you sip the more harsh and abrasive it becomes. Bitter and boozy are understating the beer's overall character.

Imagine a rabbit dying on dead grass - that’s this beer. It’s straight up ripe n nasty. From the aroma to the moment it hits your palate, it’s more bunk than Taylor Swift’s last single. He he he who who who - this beer is nasty. Never try it again!
