A conversation. The backbone of every great relationship. A cup of Joe, be it cold brew, pour-over, mass-produced or small-batch, can be a great way to start a day. The same can be said about having a beer to end the night. Choosing a pilsner, porter, barrel-aged stout or fruited sour makes no difference. It’s the conversation over a drink that binds the words with liquid creating magic. With Coffee Talk, we choose to “can” some of that experience, creating a conversation between coffee and beer. We hope you can share it with someone, and help get caught up in their world. Cheers.

Got this and a handful of other beers on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Back of the can read “A conversation. The backbone of every great relationship. Poured a chestnut brown-to-very dark color with two fingers of frothy dark khaki head. Could see some bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven layered lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled cold-brew coffee, char wood, molasses, anise, hints of cinnamon and bitter dark chocolate. Better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted better than the nose. Got cold-brew coffee, char wood, molasses, black licorice, anise, bitter dark chocolate, wood, roasty malts, burnt toast and hints of cinnamon. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
This was outstanding for me overall. (Overall - 4.00)

No date on can, but presumably 2021 vintage; drank 11/13/21 @ Midsommar Phoenix.
Black/brown appearance.
An eve pour yielded a huge tan head; frothy, tree-rung lace.
Fresh medium roast coffee bean, brown sugar & faint hop bite notes in the nose.
Creamy, medium mouthfeel.
Medium roast coffee bean & chocolate syrup flavors up front; a mild hop bite on the finish.
Coffee forward but pleasant & drinkable. I'd have another...

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours mahogany brown with a frothy khaki head that settles to a light layer and leaves some light lacing.
S: Earthy, roasty, a little char, coffee, dark fruit, a hint of dark chocolate, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Roasty, earthy, black coffee, a little char, faint dark chocolate, hints of dark fruit, and light caramel sweetness.
M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Solid coffee porter, but I wouldn't say it's anything to write home about. Could use just a touch more sweetness to counter the bitterness and bring it together.

Nice coffee porter, a bit thin on the mouthfeel, but I enjoyed the flavor. Will repeat.
