The colour is red-brown-amber; the two finger high head is off-white. It sinks slowly, leaving lots of lacing.
The smell is straggly and a bit sharp. Notes of crayons, oil paint and some bitter-earthy flavours.
The taste is also ... divided. There is a rather strange note of crayons that I have noticed before in ales with lots of Fuggles hops. Some earthy notes with weak sweet notes. The aftertaste is light with notes of crackers and an earthy bitterness. A sour hint in the finish.
The carbonation is light; small bubbles. The liquid is also rather light.
There are lots of different flavours that just don't stick together in this one. Although the light aftertaste makes it kind of drinkable anyway.
