Enjoyed at the barley wine festival. Reviewed from notes.
A - Poured into a snifter a nice clear honey amber hue with a thin head that fades to leave light halo.
S - Aromas of light cardboard with a thin bourbon note. Decent malt sweetness, faint english hops.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, nice caramel, decent barrel. The english hops are rather subtle, however the finish is quite nice with that standard english hop bitterness.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, faint bitter hop finish.
O - Overall this was a decent beer. Nice faint bitterness on the finish, however, the barrel is still really hidden. Would like the bourbon to pop out more.
