A saison you say? Really? I thought it tasted like a Bud Light with maybe a little more yeast or floral note to it. Nothing special.

In winnowing through my backlog, I came across this CAN for The CANQuest (tm). I had purchased it at Hunger-N-Thirst, took, resized & submitted a picture and then forgot about it. 8=( No time like the present!
From the CAN: "Working Class Hero American Saison Ale with Citrus Peel"; "It's something to be!"; "Barley, wheat, rye and oats combine with hops and citrus peel in this new American [S]aison. Created by men and women who have forged their own paths to craft your beer, here’s a liquid reward for heroic people everywhere who take pride in an honest day’s work."; "CBC was founded in 1989 in Kendall Square, Cambridge, where we've been crafting classic, unique, and experimental beers ever since. Keep an eye out for our next very special offering, Thanks for supporting authentic craft beer!"; "Cheers, [undersigned] Phil & Will".
I did a little in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing open the vent since haze is an allowable part of the style. The Crack! gave me a wee fingertip spritz as a result. I let it flow fairly freely during the Glug, producing two-plus fingers of fizzy, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with modest retention. Color was an oh-so-faintly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose had a light funkiness, but they clearly held back on their use of Saison yeast. Instead, the citrusiness evinced itself as lemon, which was actually rather pleasant. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium. The taste was spritzy, citrusy, lemony & only vaguely funky. It made for a nice, refreshing drink on a warm Spring afternoon, but it was not a classic Saison by any stretch. YMMV.

Pours a slightly hazy straw color, minimal head. Tropical fruit aroma. Very fruity, tastes like a light beer with Hi-C in it. Fruit additions come across as artificial. Not great...

From the 12 fl. oz. can. No canning or best by date that I can see. Sampled on May 24, 2018
The golden yellow tone has excellent clarity and a quick lasting white head. Little to no lacing. Pretty average.
The aroma brings out a pleasant herbal sensation such as rosemary or sage but I also get a less enticing vegetable oil character. Also sourdough bread.
Light and crisp body.
The taste is a bit of a step up with the same herbal notes as the nose suggested and I don't get that oily thing I smelled on the aroma. Clean, crisp and fairly refreshing finish.
