Pours golden with light haze. I don't think CBC would go all out with haze. There is nice citrus aroma and that aroma translates nicely into the flavor. There is a nice orange jello tangerine flavor. It's nice soft, but not too in your face. I'd say the hallmark of CBC is subtlety and I can tell you that this doesn't err far from that. A very good DIPA.

Serving: On tap at the Cambridge brewpub, in a sampler
Served: 15 April 2016

Appearance: Brownish gold in the sampler glass, with a slight ring of bubbles around the edge. It's a sampler though so judging the head really isn't fair in this case. Looks fine overall.

Smell: You can definitely pick up the sweet malts here- it smells like honey wheat bread smothered with a healthy helping of fruity, South American hops. Hop notes are definitely fruity, but more floral and honey-like rather than tropical. Honeydew melon, ripe pineapple, and mandarin orange notes.

Taste: Hop flavor is a bit more subdued than in the nose, and I find that the pineapple and melon notes really come out nicely on the forepalate. After the swallow some nice citrus notes coat the back of the throat. Lots of sweet malts here keep the finish from being abrasive.

Mouthfeel: This one was weird to me. It didn't feel as big as a DIPA should, possibly carried by a prickly carbonation rather than a smoother one. The brew felt thinner than I was anticipating for the style.

Overall: A good beer for sure, by CBC, but with a somewhat offputting mouthfeel. I fear it may have been from the sampler glass and the fact that it was the last one I got to. I perhaps savored brett semetary a bit *too* long before getting to this guy. I guess I'll have to give it another try. Bummer!
