Bottle into Nucleated Tulip
Look: Slightly hazy Red-brown color pouring a half finger head which quickly dissipated into a very thin ring
Smell: Citric acid, citrus zest, blueberries pie, musty yeast funk, hint oak tannins
Taste: Lightly tart citrus with a astringent oak tannin undertone. This is followed by bright lemon zest, and a hint of blueberry. As this fades it leads way to some yeast funk, more citrus, and oak
Feel: Light-med body with a dry crisp finish and moderate carbonation
Overall: The blueberry is really lost in here. Get small hints of it but not what I was expecting. Its got lots of oak influence in here though. As Rug had said, this is probably a older beer, leading to some of the fresher fruit notes to fade over time.

I'm not too sure when this one was bottled as it's not marked, but I'm assuming it has a few years of age on it since it's been retired for some time now. Anyhow, this is my first beer from Cambridge, and if you count collabs then it's also my first from Jester King, a brewery that tends to get a lot of praise. I'm a sucker for blueberry beers, so let's see what they did with this one

Pours a murky purplish brown with a finger of off white head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing

The fruit is present in the nose, but most certainly has faded from what it originally was. I'm picking up on aromas of jammy blueberry, wet hay, white wine vinegar, white grape, lemon rind, and old leather

Assuming the fruit has faded, it's fallen into a nice equilibrium in taste over time, with the fruit lending a nice contrast to the funky backbone of the beer. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting lemon rind, white pepper, sharp oak, old leather, white grape, crackery malt, and jammy blueberry. The swallow brings notes of sharp oak, white wine vinegar, red grape, wet hay, jammy blueberry, and lemon rind

A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a zesty and crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry with a nice tartness

This is a cool little beer. Definitely brings the funk but with some fruit for good measure too. I'll have to check out more from both of these breweries

Poured from a 375 ml bottle into the test glass,
A - Muscat colored, excellent carbonation feeds an endless ring of off white froth.
S - Fruit forward, with blueberry, lemon, orange citrus, with some anise, and tangerine, grape skin and a bit of mineral.
T - Follows that complex nose quite well, very little deviation.
M - Crisp, a semi tart start, followed by a wave of fruit of the forest. then a quick to dry finish. Again a thread of nice minerality.
O - A true delight , tart, barrel touch is quite nice, the expression of the blueberry and meyer lemon are exquisite

the hops thrned into a spissstink uric acid nose. Other than that it’s fabulous. Will buy more if possible.

Poured from a bottle, looks a hazy purple color.
It's quite sour with berry tartness and seems like lactic acid bacteria in the fermentation. A lot of character in flavors, from the fruits to the wild yeast and the barrel, with a slightly dry bitter wood finish.

Pretty interesting beer, I'm glad I picked it up!

Corked bottle. Very dense rose color (barely translucent) with a blueberry tinge if held up to a light. Has a finger head of tiny bubbles that lasts fairly long (seems like many similar fruited beers have a head that quickly disappears to a film). Smell is not big, woody with a bit of fruit. Taste has a lot of barrel in it, the rest is an unusual somewhat bitter mix - not as fruity as I expected which may mean the blueberry and preserved citrus do not blend well for my tastebuds. Feel is a little puckering but fluid with modest carbonation. Overall, this did not match my expectations for a wild ale so it was disappointing given the high price.
