From the brewer, "sourdough rye ale with butternut, citrus, and spices."
Brown color and hazy. Light passes through easily but not in a discernible way. Light head which leaves a modicum of spots.
The smell features a spice that reminds me of anise and black pepper.
Relatively thin body with a light carbonation level -- it comes across watery. The base is similar to a Brown Ale. The biting spice provides balance. Not as dry as I expected. Other than the body, it seems to work in an unusual way.
