Poured on-tap at the brewpub and served in a tulip, the beer is a dark, blood-ruby coloring with a thin ring of off-white head. Nose of tart dark cherry, oak, and tannins. Wow. This one smells big. Flavors of tart and dark sweet forward, with cherry in the forefront. Old world fruit and subtle spice show up towards the end of the palate. Smooth bodied. The aftertaste is rich, dark sweetness, with some woody and earthy highlights. Tart, sweet linger in the finish. Big beer.

Served in a tulip at CBC.
Appearance: This beer poured a one finger pink head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a dark crimson red color with some clarity and bubbles coming seen coming up through the glass. Nice lacing on the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: tart, sour, funky, okay, and a little cherry fruitiness.
Taste: Tart cherry, bready malts, sour, funk, and soft oak.
Mouthfeel: Very drinkable, smooth, pucker, low carbonation, and light bodied.
Overall: Very enjoyable Flanders style red from CBC. Aged well and very drinkable.
