Belgium Style Grissette

Grisettes were originally brewed as a refreshing drink for Belgian workers exiting the coal mines. These rustic ales—like a lower alcohol cousin to the saison—tend to have a light malt body, floral hops, and the signature spice character of a Belgian yeast strain. This flavorful session beer is the perfect companion for sipping in the summer sunshine.

Crowler via Mills River.

Pint glass. Opaque, dirty yellow on amber body.

Floral, lemon honey nose.

Gentle, starchy, light malt & floral apple sweetness. Mellow hops. Thicker then I was expecting. Felt a bit hotter then 5.5%.

Okay.

On draft at SN Mills River, NC. Served cold in a tulip pint. The color is whitish yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin film and leaves some lacing. The aroma is mild saison yeast and a hint of wheat. The taste follows the nose with saison yeast, lemon, lime and wheat malt. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with slightly less than average carbonation. Overall, very good and a pleasant way to start my afternoon at the brewery.

Milky straw yellow with an egg meringue foam head.

Smell is hay, honey, tea and grass.

Barely tart pear introduces the flavor, as well a touch of pinot grigio, and corn.

Light yet chewy dry.

Very watery and forgetful. Too light in body; both look and feel. There was nothing that stood out about this beer. It was like a light beer but only slightly better...I was highly disappointed.

On tap at the brewery taproom in /NC.
Very pale, cloudy yellow body topped by a generous head. /partial sheeting of the glass.
/funky barnyard aromatics largely disappear in th surprisigly clean, lightly fruity flavor.
Very light body with medium+ carbonation.
