12-pack purchased at grocery store. Poured into an Odessa Deutsches Fest mug.

Pours a pale copper color, clear with a modest white head.

Smell is a sweet grain aroma.

Taste is caramel bread flavor with a mild bitterness.

Medium bodied with a very clean finish.

Overall a nice fall seasonal. Very well done.

A: The beer is clear orange amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with just a thin white collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of toasted malts are present in the nose along with hints of floral hops.
T: The taste has flavors of pilsener malts with notes of toasted malts. The hops mostly serve to contribute a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer doesn't seem nearly as malty compared to other beers in the style but is a good representation of a Märzen.

The combination of sterling and record hops makes this beer taste like cranberries. Smooth light body with a complex aroma-grainy malts, lemony and botanical hops.

(12 oz bottle, PKGD 08/17/18)

L: crystal-clear, sunset orange-gold colored liquid; foam didn't last

S: orange tea, lightly-bready malt, subtle spicy hop and hint of alcohol poking through... overall dense, potent aromas, suggests dry bready flavors

T: firm malt base present, but relatively bold, layered earthy-herbal hoppiness; dry, spicy finish, lightly spicy-floral aftertaste with a hint of lightly-sweet golden (pretzel) bread crust... orange rind hop notes undeniable

F: clean, relatively crisp; very little carbonation play, a bit dead... bit of a soft spicy heat lingering at the back of the palate... subtle trailing malt viscosity, but it doesn't lend to much breadth in body

O: initially thought it wasn't meeting my expectations, but after some thought realized it tasted pretty exactly how it ought to have - SN-dominant character, from the hops to the tone of its dry finish... pretty good, but I do enjoy some other domestic examples more

Bought a 6-pack Safeway $9.99
Golden-amber color
Medium mouthfeel
High carbonation
Caramel malt taste, touch of bitterness finish
Overall ok for the style. I was expecting it to be bolder tasting.

Appearance: orange in color with a 1/2" head that falls to a surface covering.

Smell: some malt and bread are what is detected.

Taste: caramel, bread, and a mild floral hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Lightly crisp throughout. Short lasting aftertaste.

Overall: a very well done Oktoberfest that satisfies.

Pkgd 08/17/18. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass.

A: Brilliant chestnut with 1-finger of foamy eggshell head with average to low retention and no lacing.

S: Middle of the road caramel aromas with floral hop note

T: Smooth and enjoyable but not very distinctive in the lineup of past SN Oktoberfest collaborations. Slightly nutty malt note mid-palate is as bit odd but the rest of the beer is seamless but a little subdued, even for a lager. Floral noble hop note in the finish is understated as it should be.

M: Very clean, crisp, and drinkable, especially given 6% ABV. Body is light with moderate carbonation and dry finish.

O: I liked the beer but it is not a standout for the style.

DATE: October 18, 2018... OCCASION: excited to partake in this one, having missed their last few collaboration Fests.... GLASSWARE: chiseled mug... pours a fizzy sizzle of rapidly deteriorating bubbles, until its whiteness is a pencil-thin outline--slightly disappointing, though it is indeed freshly bottled...its body is crystal clear orange amber with subtle, steady effervescence... malts are caramel, sweet and pleasing, with a slight fruitiness like apple and a light airiness of flowers... its sip is consistent with its genre--smooth, medium-bodied, and easily drinkable... honey, apple, caramel, light bread malts, and a burst of graininess... not as sweet as some other fests, this is a great beer for the afternoon, or for many at night...

Pours out to a generous head and gold amber color. Aroma is malt extract and honey with some light spicy hop notes. Flavor is sweet, honey-like malts and shortbread, slight noble hop in the finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium, CO2 is low but nominal. Overall an easy drinking O-fest that hides the alcohol well and delivers sweetness without being cloying.

Had on tap. Pours clear, copper in color with 1/3 inch head. Taste is wheat and doughy bread. Medium bodied, low carbonation and sweet. Makes for a nice clean lager. Could have several.
