This was a simply beautiful, refreshing lager with belgian yeast and varied grains...what a tasty lager, mmmm.
had on tap @ bar crudo with a huge array of oysters and raw fish which made for a delcious pairing.
pours blonde and off opaque with a nice big head and a bit of lacing.
smell is so nice, yeasty, orangeish, very very bready, very nice for the style.
taste is more of the same, so much depth yet maintains a nice palate cleansing refreshingness, just enough sweet to carry the yeast and pronounced hop finish this lager has - very different for SA, a great beer week beer.

SF Brewer's Guild Beer Camp beer. Burnished gold and crystal clear. Smells cheesy, light and malty. Tastes cheesy and funky, a bit like aged hops. Likely, this flavor comes from the uncooked flavors of a sourdough lactic acid bacteria. Hops are spicy and brisk, scrubbing out all the funkiness for a clean, dry finish. Bready and toasty malt flavors are in the middle of the taste, maybe a bit of Munich malt. Has a little twang, which could just be from Saccharomyces -- this is not a sour beer.
The taste goes: cheesy funkiness, warm bready malts, brisk spicy German hops.
Truly fantastic to taste something altogether different from Sierra. Bravo, beer campers!

Beer Camp beer brewed for San Francisco Beer Week. Cool idea, a lager brewed with a sourdough starter.
Pours a clear bright straw good color with a small white head.
Aromas are faint. Some dough, and light citrus.
Taste is clean, malty, with lightly spiced bread dough, and some light creaminess. Finish has some lemon bitter hoppiness, and a nice crisp dry quality.
Mouthfeel is very nice, smooth, clean, and full bodied.
Drinkability is quite good. This goes down very easy and super easy to sip, while still being flavorful. I just wish it had a little less alcohol, then it would be a topnotch summer session brew. But with that said, this is a very nice lager.
