I had a pint of this on cask at the Ginger Man in Manhattan. I was warned that it had a "wierd taste" when I ordered it, but that more or less strengthened my resolution. I wasn't sure if I should expect a cherry lambic or a Flemish red ale, but I happily found it to be the latter.
It was served in a pint glass, and had a dark reddish color with a thin froth on top, consistency of saliva. The aroma was Brett-like, sweetly funky and sour. But not as puckering as some of the Belgian versions. It really had just enough of the flavor to keep the drinkability sort of high. It was a really nice take on the style, easily a gateway beer to Flanders Reds.
