Notes / Commercial Description:
When Fat Mike of NOFX told us he was interested in brewing a beer, the first thing we said was, "Why are you calling us at 3am and how did you get our number?" Turns out he was serious (for once) and after completely ignoring the advice of our legal team, we figured we would give it a shot. The result is Stone & NOFX Punk In Drublic Hoppy Lager. Which, against all odds, is really f***ing good.

This is no light, corporate, tasteless beer for drinking on the beach. We’re still Stone. And punk is not dead yet. This is a hopped-up, bold, flavorful lager that the authority figures in your life are sure to hate. So crack one open and revel in this self-entitled beer.

Pours a clear golden color with a modest head. As it recedes, a frothy film shows good retention throughout.
The nose emits floral hops and fruit, particularly notes of apples and a hint of pear. Aromas of toasted malts throughout, as well as grassy hops.
Clean taste with a firm toasted malt backbone and flavors of grapefruit pith. A restrained but assertive bitterness is clean. The palate is dry overall, and has a lemony and sharp pine needle finish.
Medium bodied, crisp and moderately carbonated.
A nice and easy to drink hoppy l

Canned 04/30/18

Appearance - Pours relatively clear and golden yellow in color with a frothy white, near two-finger width head. Fair retention results in a thin, broken layer of suds and thickening up into a noticeable ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell - Moderate aroma with notes of lemon, grass, light floral notes, bready sweetness and just a hint of grain.

Taste - Follows the nose to a degree. Lemon, herbal leafy qualities, hint of grapefruit and a solid bready malt backbone with just a kiss of grain. Finish turns decidedly bitter but not overly done, with fair notes of lemony pith bitterness leading the charge.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with a fair amount of tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a crisp, refreshing and mostly dry finish.

Overall - One of the better hoppy lagers I've had to date. A shame someone said some things they shouldn't have said and now it won't be around for much longer.

The beer pours out a lightly hazy pale golden straw color, with 1 finger of white head----------------- the aromas are of sweet malt, citrus, tea, and floral/grass --------------- the flavors are of citrus, pine and grass, the beer has a medium mouthfeel with a medium bitterness on the finish--------------- overall this is a delisious hoppy lager, it's a lot like a session ipa but with lager yeast instead of ale yeast, so light and refreshing--

From the 12 fl. oz. can with an enjoy by 7/18/18 date. Sampled on May 27, 2018.

It pours a slightly murky looking yellow tone with a lacing-leaving white foamy head.

An array of aromas include pine, fruit, and herbal hops along with a white bread and sweet malt character.

Light bodied beer.

The taste has the same breaded sweetness with a slightly sharp yet clean bitter finish. Herbal notes lead the pack.

Forgettable albeit above average. The band commercial tie-in will help Stone drive sales, of course.

Fuck me. I bought it.

I'll be honest, this beer would have to be pretty damn terrible for me to pan it, since Stone and NOFX are two pretty dependable variables in my world.

Solid white head for a lager, with fresh floral and grassy hops riding high, so to speak.

The taste features real noble bitterness, at least for a lager. Despite the thinner body, the aftertaste is very strong and lasting, reminiscent of the better German and Czech pilsners, but hoppier and less restrained. Not quite an IPA but crazy quaffable and at least as good as the "session IPAs" that seem all the rage.

Definitely a good choice for camping or music festivaling, or anything else outside in the heat.
