Style: American Pale Lager

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.80%

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes / Commercial Description:
When Fat Mike of NOFX told us he was interested in brewing a beer, the first thing we said was, "Why are you calling us at 3am and how did you get our number?" Turns out he was serious (for once) and after completely ignoring the advice of our legal team, we figured we would give it a shot. The result is Stone & NOFX Punk In Drublic Hoppy Lager. Which, against all odds, is really f***ing good.

This is no light, corporate, tasteless beer for drinking on the beach. We’re still Stone. And punk is not dead yet. This is a hopped-up, bold, flavorful lager that the authority figures in your life are sure to hate. So crack one open and revel in this self-entitled beer.

I had this during the Sacramento show. Man, NOFX sucked live there, even for a band that sometimes notoriously sucks live. Anyways, this pours (for $8 at the show) yellow like a familiar mass produced lager with 1/2" white head. The aroma did have some hoppiness, but it didn't seem aromatic hops, more like Simcoe.

Taste was decent, it was a lager, the lager yeast was apparent, the pilsner like malt body was there. The hops were more bitter than accustomed in a lager. Grassiness all over the place. A lot of the lemon, grass and grapefruit hop bitterness notes on this one.

Its a good hot weather banger at $10/6 pack. Paying more than that hurts. There's a lot of better IPL's in SoCal alone, but this is plenty banging and I would buy it again for less than $2 a can.

Canned on 3/20/18. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with great clarity and transparency with bubbles racing upwards; fluffy eggshell white head that falls leaving great retention and nice lacing. The aromas have subtle hints of citrus along with some fresh bread and crackers. The aromas are clean, crisp, sharp and refreshing. Nice hop bitterness. Lots of fresh grass. Hints of lemon and grapefruit. Some corn. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's light with active carbonation. It's very fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a nice "hoppy lager". It stays true to the lager style and isn't an IPA labeled as a lager. Once again, it's clean, crisp, sharp and refreshing. The craftsmanship is on point. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. Well done.

Light golden hued with a fingernail of eggshell white on top. The aroma is dominated by grassy German hops. The taste is grassy German hops and a touch of Dutch lager yeast, and a touch of corn. The mouth is light, smooth, and easy going.

Ok. Honestly there are many better similar offerings so kinda a let down from Stone. Even the new Sam pilsner is superior. That said it is a good alternative to a macro lager. And I love NOFX. But kinda weaker than it shoud be

Picked up a single from TW Arrowhead 10-9-17 for $2.29. Canned on 8-16-17 and best by 12-14-17.

Beer poured golden with an okay white head that dissipated quickly.

Nose is predominately pilsner malt.

Taste is a nice refreshing pilsner malt base that gets overrun by the green melon hopping. Finish is too vegetal for me.

Mouthfeel is crisp, clean, and refreshing.

Overall this is a decent hoppy lager but my palette does not enjoy a green hop finish.

Light color, yellow golden, clear, with extensive lacing. Nose is closed, but the taste is a nice combination of mild fruit notes and a bitter bite in the close. Refreshing.

L - Pale yellow with a medium frothy white head. Tons of clarity.
S - Malt and wheat are very noticeable. Some notes of honey with very light notes of hops.
T - Follows the nose with big notes of malt and wheat up front followed by mild/moderate hop bite. Notes of honey interlaced as well.
F - medium body with a medium/high amount of carbonation.
O - I was pretty excited for this one but I feel somewhat let down. I don't really know what I was expecting, but I was expecting more - usually Stone more than delivers but not this time. To me, this pale lager is just average: it's got your standard american pale lager flavor profile with malt, wheat, and hops. It's good and very drinkable, but it just doesn't stand out in any way.
