When Fat Mike of NOFX told us he was interested in brewing a beer, the first thing we said was, "Why are you calling us at 3am and how did you get our number?" Turns out he was serious (for once) and after completely ignoring the advice of our legal team, we figured we would give it a shot. The result is Stone & NOFX Punk In Drublic Hoppy Lager. Which, against all odds, is really f***ing good.
This is no light, corporate, tasteless beer for drinking on the beach. We’re still Stone. And punk is not dead yet. This is a hopped-up, bold, flavorful lager that the authority figures in your life are sure to hate. So crack one open and revel in this self-entitled beer.

Canned: 5/22/18 Enjoy by: 10/19/18 - Hello, it's nearly July 2019, WHY is this being sold in stores today?
Well, possibly because the six-pack of cans (with the dates on bottom of the can) are surrounded by a pretty cardboard carton with NO DATE information. Duh! So this means the distributor, the retailer and the customer all are with no knowledge about the product freshness until the customer (me in this case) opens the carton to find out the beer is well over a year old. Brilliant idea there Stone. I am done purchasing any product that hasn't got the dates clearly visible at the retailer.
So, despite the age this wasn't a total disaster, salvaged by canning somewhat. In bottles this would have been flat and flavorless by now. The pour was pleasant - golden and slightly hazed with a nice 1and 1/2 finger foam that lasts and laces pretty nicely. Aroma was nearly absent, just faint hints of tropical fruit. Flavor also was a bit lacking, slight bitterness on the finish. Feel was decent too, maybe just a bit too carbonated.
It would have been nice to sample this fresh.

Presentation: 12 oz. can with canning and "enjoy by" dates printed on the bottom. Served in a Samuel Adams pint glass.
Appearance: Healthy, two finger head that sticks around for a while and ends in a thick layer of foam but leaves little lacing. Clear, pale yellow in color.
Smell: A strong, hoppy grapefruit aroma dominates with some peach as well and spice notes from the yeast in the background.
Taste: The bitter, hoppy, citrus and fruit notes are rounded off by a bready warmth from the malts. Very balanced despite the hoppyness.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied, smooth and refreshing with low carbonation.
Overall: A nice, refreshing lager with lots of character and a very well executed flavor profile. A shame it hasn't been widely released.

Look: It pours golden and fairly clear with a white head. Head retention is good.
Smell: The first notes are of stone fruit which is a mixture of peach and apricot. There is a slight bread aroma in the background.
Taste: The flavors feature stone fruit which is a bit more peachy with hints of apricots. It is also a bit bready.
Feel: It has a moderate body on the light side. The finish lingers a bit in the long run.
Overall, it is a decent beer with stone fruits and is relatively clean.

Another beer courtesy of the creator of the canquest, woodychandler. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of citrus, some malts. Taste is balanced, citrus hops and malts. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing summer beer.
