Añejo Tequila Barrel-Aged Sattlerita was created as a result of David Sattler's winning the bid for the Akron Civic Gala to help raise funds for the Akron Civic Theatre! This amazingly delicious beer features a blast of bright citrus that will delight your senses coupled with hints of agave and tequila flavors from the hand selected barrels used to add complexity! It's not a margarita, it's a Sattlerita!
An amazing, refreshing combination of agave fermentation, barrel aging, and fresh citrus flavors of the Caribbean are captured in this beer! Whether you’re floating around The Lakes in the summer sun, or just wish you were, this beer will get the party started - Aye Caramba!

I think the can may be bad, a few months past the drink by date.
Pours a funky brown with no head or lacing. Aroma of strangely cherry coke and lemon. A lot of flavors going on and none of them good, from a sort of strange cola taste to artificial citrus to what sort of seems like anejo tequila, and some very sweet malt. Very low carbonation and quite bitter from the high alcohol, and sickening sweetness makes it quite hard to drink.
I think at one point the complexity and fun factor was there but this can has probably gone bad and it's a drain pour. Far too expensive for a very unenjoyable experience. I only got through a quarter of the pint before I had to get rid of it. I would also think a lower ABV and a more natural citrus flavor and possibly extra salt would've gone a long way, but as it stands it felt like a much more expensive Juice Force chased with a cheap aged tequila.

During a rather last minute trip to Cleveland last weekend I found myself with some time on the way home to see what Cleveland bottle shops had to offer, and this was one of the fun things I walked away with. I’ve been obsessed with trying Hoppin’ Frog beers from Tavour lately and figured this one was a no brainer when I saw it. You don’t see many añejo tequila barrel aged beers so I’m excited to dig in
Pours a murky orange gold with a finger of soapy white head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
In the best way, this smells like a cheap margarita, and somehow I don’t hate it. I’m picking up on aromas of lime juice, añejo tequila, dry oak, overripe banana, mint, orange juice, and light black pepper
It gets even stranger in taste, yet I’m still finding a redeemable quality in it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lime juice, orange candy, agave nectar, oak, dark bread, light banana, black pepper, and a touch of clove. The swallow brings notes of lime juice, bready malt, vanilla, overripe banana, agave nectar, light mint, and dry oak
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a bit boozy but remains drinkable
This is one of the strangest beers I’ve had in quite some time. I go back and forth between liking and disliking it, so I ultimately land somewhere in the middle. I’d never get it again, but it was an interesting experience nonetheless

16 ounce can, best by date of APR 28 2024 stamped on the bottom of the can. Served in a Teku glass, the beer pours a somewhat hazy dark gold color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is OK, it smells like lemon, lime, tequila and a weird herbal aroma. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also a weird fake sugary flavor and a slight medicinal flavor noticeable too that gets worse the longer I drink it. Smells better than it tastes. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I'm not a fan of this one, but then I really don't like their regular Turbo Shandy. Figured I'd give this one a shot because of the barrel aging and the fact it's a stronger beer. I think it's still better than the regular version but this one doesn't work for me either. Guess I should probably avoid the other Turbo Shandy variants and just stick to their other brews from now on.

16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy amber pour with tight, white head. Aroma is lemons, tequila and caramel. Really pleasant. Taste has the lemon and tequila wrestling for control, but who care who wins. This a damn tasty beer, refreshing. I'm sure the ABV will catch up with me eventually.

Dark burnt amber, nearing brown, with a short khaki head that fizzles out quickly leaving a few spots. The just slightly foggy body is particularly mesmerizing because the oak's influence is starkly apparent relative to the base.
This actually tastes like those orange gummy slices, while the tequila contribution is slightly herbal and heavily caramel forward. The second sip brings waves of salty heat with a touch of honey and a slight notion of toasted oak. The salt actually accents the caramel of the barrel well, without coming across as too decadent, but I was hoping for even more tequila character in here.
As the silky medium round body finishes semi-sticky, it almost seems sweeter than the base because of those caramel notes, enhancing what malt flavor might be there. It's also substantially warmer and more aggressive than their usual shandies, at 10%, fairly quickly warming up the ears and even forehead.
