Appearance: A start-off tipple for the 5 Seasons North BeerBQ event. Hazed, chestnut-hued body topped with a bone white ring of fine fizz.
Smell: Bready and lightly sweetish in the nose with notes of zesty rye, hand-picked fruits, and a dusting of finely-grated spices.
Taste: A bread beginning with a simple sweetness akin to golden syrup followed by a big tastes of baked spiced apples and red berries. Fruitiness really begins to take over, then the breadiness returns, along with a piquant rye grain character and spicy yeastiness. A few drops of buckwheat honey. A pinch of coriander. Finishes lightly warming and with a faintly tart fruitiness and spiciness to linger into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: A tasty treat to start off a barbecue event or anything, really. Now, off to the ribs, wild boar, pulled organic chicken, beef brisket, and ensuing food coma!
