600 mL bottle from the LCBO; bottled Jun 14 2017 and served slightly chilled. Neat label, with kind of a Sim City 3000 motif going on.

Pours a foggy light golden-yellow colour, capped off with one finger of resilient, pillowy white foam that lasts beyond the fifteen minute mark. A lumpy, creamy cap is eventually left over, with a nice, thick coat of lace resulting as well. Yeasty hints of white pepper and clove come through on the nose, alongside notes of apricot and floral grassiness; there's some distinct pale malt sweetness in there too, manifesting itself in the form of a doughy, wheaty sweetness. The aroma is a tad subdued for the style, but perhaps that's to be expected given the low abv.

Delivers as advertised - this is a pleasant, light, moderately flavourful summer quaffer, albeit one that is a bit lacking in complexity. Bready, grainy wheat malts and doughy sweetness provide some scaffolding for the profile, propping up the fruity notes of apricot and red apple skin which begin to surface by the midpoint of the sip. The yeast - and especially the hops - really start to assert themselves towards the finish, where notes of grassy, floral hops and a hint of pine needles mingle together with white pepper and a slight clove spiciness. Off-dry finish, with some mildly persistent spice and yeastiness. Light in body, with the carbonation starting off lively/prickly, but softening considerably as I nurse the glass. Smooth, crisp and easy-drinking: a little more bitter than most saisons, but as a summer thirst-quencher I still find it to be quite adequate.

Final Grade: 3.86, a B+. Beau's Farm Table Saison isn't an exciting brew, but it's still worth taking a flyer on. I think I like this one a little better than their Grisette (as well as their older Patio Saison recipe), but not markedly so - the fact is they're all decent Belgian-style ales in the same quality range. I may splurge on another bottle in the future, but it's not a real high priority.
