At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from my favourite The Beer Store on Goyeau St. in nearby downtown Windsor. My first beer from the Vankleek Hill, ON brewery.

Anonymous fruity stuff. Slightly rust gold colour under a very short-lived head. Fruity sweet, tart, a little bit of beery dryness. Suitable enough as a refresher as advertised, but not really memorable.

473 mL can from Walmart; dated Apr 9 2024 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a slightly foggy golden-amber with a faint pinkish tinge. One inch of loose, soapy white head disintegrates within ninety seconds, quickly reduced to a sickly thin collar with little else of interest. It smells of raspberry juice and those tropical-flavoured "RealFruit" gummies - i.e. there are definitely elements reminiscent of passion fruit and pineapple, but it doesn't come across as authentic, or very beer-like at all.

It tastes alright - again, I get the sense that flavourings or concentrates were used, but the end product is still relatively flavourful and inoffensive. Raspberry juice and wheaty pale malt sweetness initially, with passion fruit and pineapple flavourings dominating the back end. Mildly tart, and not very juicy - the passion fruit lingers a little, but the aftertaste trends dry, encouraging a subsequent sip. Light in body, with aggressive soda pop carbonation that prickles the tongue continuously, scrubbing the palate with each sip. An acceptable summer thirst-quencher.

Final Grade: 3.45, a B-. Beau's Raspberry Pineapple Passion Fruit Refresher isn't anything to write home about - it's just a basic flavoured pale wheat ale. I could see this hitting the spot after mowing the lawn on a hot afternoon, but if I'm not already dehydrated then it kind of loses most of its appeal. Not something I see myself revisiting any time soon - I preferred the raspberry-lime version, but if you enjoy tropical fruits and are looking for a lighter brew in that vein, then this might be worth taking a flyer on.
