750ml bottle served in a WABL sampler. Don't see a date.
Mostly clear. Small head. Funk and oak. Lemon and herbs. Taste is Chardonnay, oak, funk. Mouthfeel is dry. Overall, not bad.

"Herbal saison fermented and aged in wine barrels" is the description. Some haze in the yellow brew with a modest white foam in the Wander Brewing tulip. There is a tangy, floral taste right off but it mellows out to a tangy but lush Saison. Aroma has a hint of pineapple and white grapes that is inviting.
There is a very "meaty" flavor that makes me think of the long-missed Bière de Mars that New Belgium used to make. Slight herbal flavor asserts itself eventually, along with some yeast. That delicious Cream of Wheat malty flavor lasts into the aftertaste. The barrels lend just a touch of acidity but not much oak. It's a complex but highly drinkable beer. From the 750 ml bottle, capped rather than corked (thank you).
