Once in awhile you find that magical place. A creative confluence of scenic panoramas, bountiful lands, and independent spirit. A site on the edge of nowhere yet enticing to all, where cityscape ends and the open ocean begins. Whether you call it Shangri-La or Utopia or the City of Dreams, one thing is certain – this is the beer you will find there.

I hope this is named after a Talking Heads reference.
From the can this pours slightly hazy. Soft, mellow hop profile with a pillowy finish. I get some orange creamsicle, papaya, pineapple whip. Delicious and enjoyable.

I love a good NW Pale Ale. Didn’t realize this was a ‘hazy’ when I purchased. Wouldn’t have selected it had the can stated “hazy pale ale”. It’s one the fruit juiciest beers I’ve ever had. I guess I’m more into beer than into fruit juice. At any rate it’s a decent brew…but this 6-pack will be my last. Love many of Fort George’s brews. Would like to try a traditional American Pale from them (along the lines of Deschutes Mirror Pond or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale), but I’ve not come across Fort George “Design Trends” on the market.

This is my second from Ft. George and I missed something about them in my first micro-review in my review of Cavatica, courtesy of Tavour. What I neglected to mention then is this metaphor: Fort George truly is near the end of the earth, at the mouth of the Columbia River; and Fort George also is an enclave of excellence, a city block with three taprooms and two food menus, two experimental breweries (that produced almost 500 brews in 18 years) and one production brewery for the rest of us. An excellent example of concerted effort to make something great in a small city. Hence, The City Of Dreams.
And this ale lives up to my hype. City of Dreams opens with a huge head and some lace, but its hazy could make this a NEIPA. Its Smells are less NEIPA fruit cocktail and more APA hop-forward. And as its balanced Tastes progress thru my mouth, it certainly is an APA; but very delicate on my hop sensitive palate. Medium-mouthed.
As exquisite as this 16 ounces of excellence is, I merely ask the question: why doesn't this 18 year share its brewing wealth by opening its pubs in other cities and distribute to other states than OR & WA ?

Had at Killer Burger yesterday on tap. This beer pours a hazy yellow gold with a small foam head that leaves the glass covered in lace. The aroma is citrus and tropical with a creamy full-bodied flavor, almost like it was on nitro. It has a good malt backbone with just the right amount of hops for a sweet and bitter taste. This is not the mouthfeel of a pale ale. It tastes more like a Hazy IPA on nitro than anything else. Rated 4-12-2023

A modern classic. Massive hop complexity. Delicious, crushable grain bill. Crackery but full, hazy, light, fruity yet crisp.. strawberries and cream, fresh bagel, honey, white grape, lemon spritz. Astringent and has a little bite. Niche and unique but exceptional hoppy hazy pale .

Pastel yellow, opaque; thick, creamy head, white. Fine, delicate tropical fruit aroma; a touch of biscuit on the nose. Bright flavor; citrus; grapefruit with a dose of light malt breadiness; light hop bitterness. Medium body; somewhat sharp on the palate; lightly acidic.
A nice, easy drinking pale ale, more on the subdued side of things yet still exuding some fine features to tickle the palate.

Look: Turbid bright orange – almost yellow-orange, with a sudsy white head that quickly builds, holds some, and settles to a lid, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Navel orange, white grapefruit, passionfruit, pine, sugar-dusted strawberries, wafts of pineapple, papaya, some Cannabis, sweet malt notes, and blueberries
Taste: Starts off with layers of tropical fruit that include papaya, pineapple, and passionfruit that begin to develop as waves of citrus fruit follow closely behind. Citrus and tropical fruit synergize along with occasional berry and dank notes all atop a soft malt base through the close
Mouthfeel: Full, soft, medium-high carbonation, and a soft and smooth finish with zero hint of astringency
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. I couldn’t believe I had never reviewed this as it was one of my first hazies from these folks and one I even tried an iteration of at their brewpub as part of their “Beta” series. A nice blend of tropical and citrus fruit with a touch of berries that all come together nicely and doesn’t have a chewy feel either. I need to drink more of this and would recommend it as well

On draft, in shaker pint glass
Opaque dark yellow color, white head that quickly fades. Hop flavor leans orange juice, a touch sweet before some lingering bitterness to balance. Thin to medium bodied, but doesnt quite hit the soft mouthfeel of better NE style beers

Pours a hazy yellow color with a creamy white head. Smells tropical with citrus and pineapple notes. Tastes sweet like fruit juice, mild bitterness no malt presence to speak of.
