it was close with the strata, but this is the best of these beers this year i think, although, i guess there is an idaho 7 one too, which i have not had or seen around. it was cool to do this one back to back with the strata edition, both are excellent, and the hops are actually somewhat similar, at least how they manifest themselves in this beer. this one is a little more citrus forward to me, specifically lemon, without the herbal nature of the strata too, and with lower apparent bitterness. the cashmere is also center of the tongue, very intense, resinous and weedy, more than the others, and it lingers, almost a lupulin powder or something, its got that over the top pungency and somehow no greenness. the cashmere also has notes of sweet corn, pineapple, meyer lemon, and pink cotton candy, and it totally coats the palate. this one feels a little bigger and longer than the strata too, not so resolved in the finish, just more of a slow fade. the freshness is insane, and it almost has a sticky texture, a really cool expression of the cashmere hop, which, is absolutely becoming one of my favorites, especially in this context. a great series of beers this year from these guys, and this is the pick of the lot in my opinion, not to be missed! one of the better ipa types i have had since moving to idaho!

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated 7/25/19. Gift from my brother in law.
Pours hazy, golden, medium to big head, lots of carbonation. Smell is strong citrus whites.
Taste is orange and pineapple and lemon and grapefruit rind. Deep bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied but with a nice effervescence. Overall, this is a nice beer.
