Palate Contaminants: none
The color is that of wet straw. Some fine head, but it goes away quickly, leaving no lacing. Light-moderate opaqueness.
There's a little soda bread (of all things) on the nose, but there a lot more citrus. It's that pan-citrus amalgam that I usually just jump to calling it Five Alive. The funk is relatively light and actually blends well with both the soda bread and Five Alive.
Great citrus in the taste. It's predominantly mandarin oranges, but there's also a lot of acidic lemon and lime. Moderate-heavy sweetness, but nowhere near overbearing because it combines well with the flavors. The brett is light, and it plays nicely with the light malt. White grapes are present, and the more I sip, the more it seems that the sugar comes from that flavor, although it still goes really well with the citrus. Overall, it's a pretty good change-up for the beer-wine collaborations.
Carbonation isn't much, although fine, but it is a bit prickly. Nothing wrong with the aftertaste – and it even adds a sour element – but it lags behind the taste. Alcohol is very well hidden for a tenner.
