Noble hops, Pilsner Malt, and Astoria’s naturally soft, clean, slow-sand filtered water. Our water, already flavorful and balanced straight out of the tap, recalls the quality of the water that inspired the original brewers of Pilsner, in the Czech city of Pilsen, to craft a beer that reflected the tastes and qualities of their region.
Dozens of trials and test batches later, we’re proud to present a beer so good we named it… Pilsner.
Available year-round, on draft and in 12oz 6-packs, wherever you get good beer beginning Fall 2025.
Brewer's Notes
Hops: Hallertau Mittelfruh, Saphir, Tradition
Malt: Rahr Pilsner, Weyermann Barke Pils, Weyermann Acidulated

12oz can served in a snulip. Can is dated 12/08/25.
Pours mostly clear pale yellow, big head and lots of carbonation. Head slowly settles into an uneven clumpy landscape, carbonation continues. Smell is light grass, more bread and bread yeast and grain. A little earthiness, and maybe a hint of honeysuckle.
Taste is much more on the bitter side than I expected from the smell. Much more earthiness, grass comes in more clearly, almost a woody astringence. Honeysuckle is there but just as understated as it was in the nose.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Nice beer.

Great appearance; clear and lightly golden color; sparse carbonation yet producing a sharp and sculpted head, rocky; crystallized strands of foam inside the glass. Gorgeous malt base scent; delicate light malt with biscuit undertones; muted yet alluring floral notes with ethereal esters. Light malt base with a distinct, peppery hop presence; dried grass with thyme and hints of sage. Medium-light feel; crisp and smooth; lightly biting dryness.
A superb, rock-solid pilsner exuding balance and distinction. Clean and crisp overall.
ABV: 5%; pouring temperature: 41.7 ℉; canning info: #1273 DOB: 01/05/26 PILSED TO MEET YOU

Look: Pale yellow and clear with a voluptuous head that rises to the rim and slowly settles to a pillow, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Soda crackers, warm baking powder biscuits, floral hop notes, pilsner malt, some cut grass, and honey
Taste: Opens up with a nice grassy note that lingers for a moment before waves of malt come on with crackers and biscuits in tow. The grassy note returns to the forefront and joined by copious amounts of floral goodness with spirea and butterfly bush highlighted – balancing with the malt as it closes out
Mouthfeel: Light but full, very clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and crisp on the finish with a lightly dry finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. Until I spotted this at a local grocery store about six weeks ago, I didn’t know anything about it nor that these folks had been working to create a year-round Pilsner so was excited to try it given their reputation. After trying it, I can report that it’s awesome and even better than I expected, which says a lot. A delicious and eerily deep Czech Pils that honestly makes me think it could already contend in the top tier examples brewed in this state. Give it a whirl and you will not be disappointed. Draft at Here's How. Clear golden pour, small white foamy head. Biscuity aroma. Taste is crisp, grainy with a nice clean feel. Solid every day drinker.

12-ounce can purchased at John's Marketplace in Beaverton. Date stamp reads "DOB 08/11/25 PILSED TO MEET CHA". Enjoyed in a Becher glass.
Look:
The color is a nice rich gold, with superb clarity. The head shows terrific retention and marks the progress of each sip with a sturdy ring of lacing.
Smell:
The nose presents a burst of floral, spicy hops on top of a foundation of clean, sweet malt. The hops also offer delicate mint, lemon peel, and herbal licorice notes.
Taste:
The flavor leads with lightly toasted malt that's a notch sweeter than the nose and maybe 2 notches sweeter than I like in a pilsner. Hops rush in after the initial malty impression. They are mostly floral, with good spice and traces of herbs and wintergreen. The flavor quickly drops off in the finish, leaving only an echo of malt sweetness and a bracing bitterness.
Feel:
The body is on the light side of medium, with brisk carbonation and a crisp finish.
Overall:
The malt is sweeter than I prefer and doesn't have much depth or richness. The bitterness and hop flavors are quite good, but would benefit from a better balance with the malt. To borrow a line from a recent post in the NW forum, I would place Fort George Pilsner squarely in "the second tier of Oregon pilsners."
