Fresh Citra collaboration with Ruse Brewing.

Fresh Hop Hazy India Pale Ale:

The seasons are changing, daylight hours dwindle as hop farms across the land cut down their bines. The dark, low skies of the North Coast are filled with the probability of precipitation. For a third year in a row, we’ve teamed up with Ruse Brewing to brew FRESH HOP Sediments of Memory (from memory, of course).

We crafted this brew utilizing our finest, warmest summer memories as a binding agent. Sediments of Memory is a fruity, full, barely bitter peach colored Hazy IPA with a slightly sweet finish. Brewed at Fort George with over 600 pounds of fresh Citra Hops from Coleman Agriculture and about 10 pounds of memories.

fresh citra this year, it was strata last year, the result is every bit as good, also a collaboration with ruse. i think fort george is one of the breweries i get most excited to drink new beer from, especially in the hoppy styles, man this is in their wheelhouse and so darn good, super pale and quite hazy on tap, an inch of airy white head on it and an observable softness, looks really appealing, no sedimented and dull at all. the nose is fruit forward and awesome, more than citra in here for sure, but it drips citra at the same time, i get some meyer lemon and lemongrass, white coconut and ripe melon and pineapple, along with some tangerine, really fresh and bright, well supported by the starchy grain in here, off dry, juice forward, clean on the ferment, oily and dense with fresh hop goodness, really vibrant and sexy even, great nose! the flavor is just as good, citra leads the way and it starts early, definite orange with the lemon here too, a marmalade note, some weedy fruitiness as well, fruity kids cereal vibes, especially with the pale grain at the core of this, oats apparent for sure smoothing this out, some white wine character, ripe juicy pear, and again some pineapple, the intensity is awesome, the cryo part of this stands out, but so do the fresh cones, it comes together so well, has a little more late bitterness than i think the strata edition did, nice oily palate, some late coconut and mandarin on the recall, just gloriously fresh and delicious. decent body on it, fine carbonation, some palate permanence with the intensity. one of my favorite styles from one of my favorite breweries, cant beat it!

Look: As expected, pours a turbid medium orange with a luscious head that ends as a silky lid and leaves great lacing behind on the glass

Aroma: I could smell it on the pour. Freshly juiced orange, ripe peach, Cara cara orange, ruby-red grapefruit, kumquats, strawberries, and bready malt

Taste: Kicks off with a rush of anything and everything orange; juice, ripe flesh, zested peel, and sweet citrus, that all shine on their own before blending into the pack. Peach and ruby-red grapefruit come next and add to the citrus train already trucking as strawberry and kumquats peek in until it closes out

Mouthfeel: Full, soft, lightly slick, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the finish

Overall: This is some good stuff. It’s a tasty and well-made fresh hop Hazy IPA that showcases the citrus bomb of the varietal nicely throughout. Fresh hop character is present but I usually find it hides better in a hazy easier than a West Coast take on an IPA but that’s a minor knock as this is delicious. Recommended

A fresh hopped all citra (?) hazy beer, only not so fresh. Enjoyed after purchasing, canned approximately five weeks prior. (Didn’t catch that when i bought it.) fortunately, I think fort George does a good job on quality control. This still exhibits some of the tasty citra hops, laying it on thick and heavy, with a touch of the hop burn on the finish.

Draft at The Taphouse. Hazy, milky yellow pour, small, sturdy foamy white head. Aroma is grapefruit peel. Taste is citrusy, grapefruit, very zesty, and oh so tasty.

Poured from a 16 ounce can dated 9-24-25 into a tulip glass at 52 degrees.

Look- Straw, very hazy, white creamy head, slightly above average head retention, above average lacing.

Smell- Clementine, pith, pineapple, peach, between medium and high strength of scent.

Taste- Clementine, pineapple, grapefruit, pith, pine resin at the finish, between medium and high strength of flavor.

Feel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, moderately bitter, moderately prickly, moderately creamy, moderately mouth warming, mildly dry finish, no astringency.

Overall- Great appearance with a straw color, an abundance of haze and excellent head retention and lacing characteristics. The nose was a fantastic mix of clementine, pith, pineapple and peach with plenty of intensity. The taste was more citrus heavy as grapefruit was very detectable in the flavor, but not in the bouquet. The mouthfeel was near perfect. The body was between medium and full with moderate fresh hop character. Bitterness was moderate with a mildly dry finish that left you needing your next sip. There was no astringency present that often plagues NEIPA’s. Overall this was an all around well made beer that was delicious and delivered a very enjoyable drinking experience.

Pours a hazy golden with a fairly large head that dissipates rather quickly. It has a strong grapefruit aroma and almost tastes like fresh grapefruit (It is a fresh-hop beer). If you like grapefruit, you'll love this beer. Fresh a clean tasting. Never had anything like it before. Cheers to Fort George! BOD 9-4-2025

16oz can served in a curvy Monhegan pint glass. Can is dated 09/24/25.

Pours very hazy bright yellow with a small, white head. Moderate carbonation. Smell is citrus juicy, lots of pith and rind.

Taste is an excellent balance between citrus juice, pineapple sweet/tart, pithy and resin bitterness. On first contact with the palate, one is tempted to call it a juice bomb. As that fades and the bitterness emerges, it's a whole different show.

Mouthfeel is medium and slightly gritty. Overall, this is really good.
