This poured out as a nice looking black color with some red highlights to it. The head was thin and cream colored. The smell of the beer has a typical lagered aroma to it with some roasted notes there as well. The taste of the beer was sweeter upfront with a nice lager like bitterness and some roasted flavors too. The mouthfeel wasn't heavy and had a crisp feel to it. Overall this beer was pretty good. It had everything that a beer of this style should have, but it still could use some improvement.

A - Dark mocha brown - head is about one finger width

S - Nothing particularly dominating, some sweet characteristics

T - subtle sweet taste initially - chocolate is joyously present along with something else (description says caramel). Bitterness follows, especially in the aftertaste. Good balance initially, though it doesn't continue through the entire glass.

M - light carbonation, very easy to drink

Overall, this is a truly delicious offering by ABW, and one that I hope they work into a regular rotation

Pours a dark chocolate brown with a finger of head that leaves no retention. There is a slight aroma of roasted malt in the nose. A mild flavor of chocolate leads the way and is followed by a healthy dose of roasted bitterness. The finish is pleasantly bitter, like a beer of this style should be (as far as I am concerned). Great offering - I hope that ABW brews this regularly.
