11.2oz bottle. For bottling date the label is stamped '2BOT:27 JUN17 BBD: 27 JUNE 18'. Close to eight years in the bottle.
Murky, light brown colored body. Off white head and this becomes islands and a ring. A little bit of lacing follows the body down the glass.
Aroma of barley malt, spices such as cloves and coriander, and green apple hops.
Taste is sweet and tangy malts, rich spices such as coriander and cloves, and fruity hops that result in a concentration of green apple. Lingering aftertaste brings forward all flavors, and stays sweet and spicy.
More than medium mouthfeel. Drying and woody finish. Good carbonation.
Still drinkable in its old age, and checks the boxes for Grisette style.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Belgian version of this collaboration that was also brewed domestically by Two Roads. Pours a moderately hazy light golden amber with a fine, one finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, saison yeast, apple, hints of light stone fruit and lemon; classic saison profile. Flavor is dry grainy malt, saison with mild wild yeast, apple and pear, light stone fruit, grassy hops developing into a rather hoppy, dry finish with nice residual light fruit and grain notes. Medium bodied with sharp carbonation. A very nice, grainy saison with light suggestions of citrus, apple family and stone fruit and a uncharacteristic, but flavorful grassy hops finish that melds well with the dry farmhouse graininess. The domestic version has not been available in the Northwest so I can't compare the difference. This bottle took a nice, leisurely 7 month vacation and tour on its way to our market, but it has held up well. The start if fairly classic dry saison, but the finish is really well done. Enjoyable. De la Senne is a fine brewer.
