on draft at the brewery, a new perfect-for-summer offering (along with CrellMoset who reviewed below me, as a matter of fact!)

A: A hazy orangish-amber... creamy white head recedes to a nice sheeting and sticky lip of lace.

S: Nice, softer strawberry aromas... it's a nice balance with the wheaty scents.

T: Again, a softer strawberry note, but it is certainly there. Wheat and a slightly tart strawberry are on the forefront, but a hoppiness adding a touch of bitterness.

M + D: Rather rich without being too full bodied and heavy. A nice, shimmery carbonation. Maybe a little weighty feeling (though it's only 5.3 ABV, which is different than listed) for me to enjoy it more pleasantly as a session brew... a good fruit-infused beer, though, and one that I would happily have again - minus the slice of lemon. ;)

On tap at the Blue Mountain Brewery tasting house in Afton, VA. Brewed with fresh strawberries grown right down the road.

Appearance: A gorgeous golden orange body at the center that seems to radiate outwards into a paler bronze. A nice frothy white head that floats atop the beer for a fair while and leaves minimal lacing after it fades away.

Aroma: Strawberries are prominent here, very sweet, with a few of those good hefe notes - earthy wheat and a few light spice and ester notes.

Taste: More of a traditional weiss here, with less of the strawberry coming though, though you can still taste it up front. What is there is a solid, unfiltered hefeweizen, though - wheat, light, mildly spicy hops, and a few yeast notes. Solid.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and fairly even.

Drinkability: A very easy going and refreshing beer, perfect for summer. A step up, IMO, from their filtered kristalweizen - seems to be all around a slightly fuller beer. Recommended.
