1st review of this beer on BA. Another beer from the October 2016 run. Last beer of the flight. Its a blend of Tart of Darkness and So Happens Its Tuesday.
Because its a blend of two different stouts. . . its a black beer. Brown head 1/4" deep. Aroma was like a stronger Tart of Darkness. Didn't really pull the bourbon barrel from SHIT (and I realize its a bourbon barrel for ToD but its like 3rd use and basically all gone).
Taste was again, a bigger Tart of Darkness. Not as good though. The alcohol and bitterness are too much compared to the OG. I still liked it, but damn, this will get you horizontal quick I would imagine. I'm guessing that based on never seeing this beer again in the 3 years since, others weren't big fans of it. Plus both beers sell well, so I doubt they would need to blend this like they did out of those ever lasting years of smoking wood. It was a neat thing to try, but I don't think the world is clammoring for an imperialized version of tart of darkness. Neat to try 3oz of though.
