Bottle at share. Truth in advertising. Tastes like a churro. Dark brown, flat. Aroma is boozy, cinnamon. Taste is sugary and sweet, more cinnamon. Nice

2021 Batch with 13.6% ABV!

Sweet Milky Way-like caramel milk chocolate bar and hint of cinnamon bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with rich chocolate and caramel upfront and then a faint hint of cinnamon and vanilla boozy finish....as it warms, the cinnamon notes peek out more and takes a more spicy turn. All in all, this is pretty balanced between the different additions here. This is good!

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours jet black with light brown head. Nose is cinnamon toast, raisins, chocolate, vanilla, and some other Christmas spices. A bit of bourbon comes through, but not much. Taste is very cinnamon forward, which I love. Milk chocolate, vanilla, lactose, dark fruits, and definitely a woody character coming through on the back-end. There is a sweetness that hits early - a brown sugar sweetness. One thing I don't get much of here is the bourbon barrels. Tastes more like a non-BA pastry stout. Mouthfeel is really creamy and dense. Overall, a very tasty stout!

Tasty churro-inspired and bourbon barrel-aged pastry stout. At least the third canned iteration of this ale, and it is fun to see how it is been dialed. This is quite an upgrade from the last version, which felt like a lesser version of the original.Tasty as that was, this is back with a richer creamy sense, cinnamon dominated range - although not overpowering - and robust barrel character… Quite a treat!

16 oz. can. Black with a medium khaki head. Smells of cinnamon. Lots of cinnamon. Tastes of cinnamon. Lots of cinnamon. Booze. Not all that sweet, but maybe that's just cinnamon masking it. Medium body. Boozy. So much cinnamon that I'd don't get much else. Not something I needed to drink.

Black color, tiny tan head.
Cinnamon leads off in the aroma. Chocolate, coffee, a little booze.
Cinnamon taste throughout, building at the end. Milk chocolate, coffee. Some bourbon.
Spicy, yes, but not in a bad way. It is balanced out by some creaminess, which I would attribute to the lactose and dulce de leche.
And unless you read the label, you would never guess this beer is 14.2% ABV.
