despite being exactly 12 mo. old, this has a beautiful bronze color, very clear/ no haze, voluminous white head, bready, malty smell and flavor. light to medium body compared to what the deep color might suggest

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of bready malts. Taste is bready malts a bit of caramel, very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

The beer is a little over 6 months old reaching its peak of tastiness. The beer is 42 degrees and served in a pint glass. The pour created a frothy, creamy, and foamy light tan head with excellent retention. The head dissipated slowly leaving lacing on the glass. The color is SRM 10, amber color with reddish-orange hues. The clear to brilliant liquid shows some carbonation bubbles. The presentation is remarkable for a Marzen.
The first aromas are toffee, caramel, bread, and a touch of floral. Nosing further, I detect a hint of herbal, lightly toasted malts, and a faint fruitiness.
The flavors in the beer are toffee, caramel, bread crust, floral esters, honey-like sweetness, phenolic, earthiness, cereal grains, and a hint of banana.
The mouthfeel of the beer is creamy and slightly astringent.
The body of the beer is medium, medium-high carbonation, and medium finish.
The best part of this beer is the hops come through just enough to make it pleasant. The beer is not all malt with that malty sweetness that follows. I have enjoyed this beer on a brisk fall night or a warm spring morning, such pleasures in life.

Appearance: Clear amber color with a generous-sized foamy light beige head that slowly faded. A good looking beer.
Smell: Moderate bready aromas along with some mild fruity aromas. Not a bad nose but fairly subdued in how it comes across.
Taste: I pick up some moderate sweet malt notes with some mild bready malt notes also present. The hop bitterness comes in the finish drying the beer out somewhat but a mild malt sweetness and some mild fruit notes are what remains at the end and leaves the final impression.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a fairly generous level of carbonation.
Overall: A good clean tasting Marzen.
