Knowledge and passion with an adventurous attitude can be a delicious combination. Originally fashioned by two of The Bruery's own, Bryce Keating and 'Uncle Lee,' Brycescotti is a biscotti-inspired bourbon barrel-aged imperial porter that balances toasted almond flavor with cacao nibs and hand-roasted coffee from Be Well Coffee. Just like biscotti is twice-baked, this porter will have you craving seconds.

Had this at a football tailgate at the end of 2019. Looks cold out.
Pours a very dark brown or light black depending on how many words you like to use. Even through the non clear plastic cup, I can see a brown head 1/4" deep. The aroma was nice, the toasted almond note is captured well and plays in tandem with the bourbon barrel aging and coffee. Works nice, you don't see almond hardly ever, much less with bourbon barrels and coffee.
The taste reveals itself as a big beer indeed, but doesn't fully square up like a 13+%'er could. Coffee was much lighter in the taste than in the nose, but the cocao was bigger in the taste. Almond is less noticeable at this stage too, but how could it not be, almond is largely neutral as it is. Mouth feel hides alcohol decently, roasted malt is in the right range. This is yet another very well done big ass beer from the Bruery.
Look how high this is rated and yet "zero" wants. Bruery fans are too generous, they always kill the hype on their own beers.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours jet black with a lot of light brown head. Nose is almonds, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and roasted malts. Taste is insane. Lots of coffee, black licorice, dark chocolate, lactose, bourbon, and tons of almonds. Wow - such a great marriage of the flavors. Some sweetness up front, but quite bitter (dark chocolate?) on the back end. Mouthfeel is super creamy and full. The aftertaste lingers for ages. Awesome beer.

Appearance: Black with a medium sized dark beige head which gradually faded to a ring. Very nice looking Imperial Porter.
Smell: Prominent Bourbon notes, followed by moderate brown sugar, oak and coffee notes.
Taste: The coffee notes and Bourbon from the nose make themselves known in the taste profile. I also get noticeable chocolate notes, brown sugar, and mild vanilla notes. The beer finishes fairly dry.
Mouth-feel: Medium bodied with a modest level of carbonation that works well for this beer. the taste profile is nice and the flavor notes play well together.
Overall: A good, tasty imperial Porter.

Poured from the bottle into a Bruery Teku glass.
Frothy but fine bubbled head, reaching a foamy fine two to three fingers before settling to a simple half finger well made puck. Deep opaque, almost kind of dark blackish-purple body color. Very nice looking brew.
Holy hennah is this nose amazing. Even upon prying the cap the aroma is just bursting. Deep rich nutty flavors of almond and an even more complimentary balancing of coffee roast. The angles bounce to dark chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut, and a smorgasborg of coffee to nutty types of flavors on the nose. The first few whiffs are exquisite, but the coffee angle then dominates strongly. A very minor faux pas, in a great nose which is very hard to complain about.
Palate is just bonkers good. Deep rich hint of toasted nuts and cocoa. Crispy sense of even caramel matching a huge coffee and deep ganache chocolate silky flavor. Spiced coffee warmth with hints of oaky splintery woody flavors dancing everywhere. Piping roast bean heat coming off with light tones of controlled booze and warmth.
Exceptionally well made brew, and a fantastic nutty and drenched flavored angle. Some of the roundness of the barrel is missing but it is far from being an ordinary let alone a good beer. Exceptional brew.

Huge coffee and cream aroma. Caffé machiatto with an Ameretto kick.

Probably the best beer I've had from the bruery this year. The coffee aroma is phenomenal. The flavors of coffee, toasted almond, cacao, whiskey, oak, and roasted malts mingle together oh so deliciously.
