We meticulously tasted and hand-selected barrels that earned the right to be treated with cream-of-the-crop vanilla. This carefully crafted small batch brings blaring notes of vanilla along with rich, warming, and decadent hints of chocolate and oak. It’s a perfect beer for sharing, but you’ll probably want to keep it to yourself.

I am drinking Share This Vanilla using a Tulip glass. I served it at 50 degrees. The pour created a creamy, two-fingered, light tan head with average retention. The color is dark brown with ruby highlights, charting around SRM 24. The beer is opaque and comes with a carbonation bubble on the top. The appearance is above average for this style. The bottle has bits left inside the dark green bottle.
The initial aromas are bready, vanilla beans, caramel, raisins, bourbon, and oak. Nosing the glass again, I smell toffee, molasses, coffee, earthiness, chocolate, lightly burnt sugar, and subtle char. Swirling and the glass, I pick up on light oxidation, Maillard, smoke, soy sauce, and a touch of floral esters. The vanilla bean aromas are intense, with substantial whiskey notes.
The malt is bready, and toasted cereal grains. The dried fruit of raisins and figs gives the beer a subtle sweetness. Molasses, caramel, vanilla, and toffee also aid in the sweetness. Bourbon barrel aging shows whiskey flavors, char, oak, and light orange; barrel aging tempers the big ABV. The alcohol is there but not overbearing.
The mouthfeel is warming, and the thick finishes are creamy. The body is medium-plus and low carbonation.
I prefer a different shared version to this version. The beer is good, but the balance could be more evident.
Tasty beer, and glad I got to try it.

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger of tan head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of a boatload of vanilla, some roasted malts, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, and coffee
T: Taste is smooth vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted malts, some toasted nuts, coffee, and a touch of charred wood with just a hint of caramel. On the swallow there's more vanilla, roasted malts, cocoa powder, oak, and lingering vanilla with a touch of coffee.
M: This beer has a body which is on the lighter side of medium. Carbonation is slightly effervescent and maybe a touch overdone for the style while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a really good stout with vanilla. While the vanilla is quite prominent the base beer is up to the task and also delivers some nice complexity. I wouldn't min seeing this one make a return.
