This beer was inspired by the artwork in the city and the sweet New Orleans-native treat, Bananas Foster.
Royal St. Sweets is an imperial stout brewed with hand-peeled banana, vanilla beans, and fresh cinnamon, creating a flambéed liquid decadence fit for the heart of the French Quarter. Rich with aromas and the taste reminiscent of caramelized bananas, rounded out with smooth vanilla and hints of cinnamon. This beer pours a dark black with a rich, brown head. Creamy and viscous with a full body that won't stop. Pass a good time avec vos amis, et laissez les bon temps rouler!

16oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that reduces to a thin film on top
S- plenty of ripe banana on the nose with an equal compliment of cinnamon. The vanilla addition is reminiscent of fresh banana pudding. Undertones of chocolate give a chocolate covered banana vibe. Just a hint of roast in the background
T- cinnamon leads the way up front, immediately followed by equal parts sweet chocolate and banana. Mid-palate brings out more banana, along with a creamy vanilla note that mimics banana pudding. The finish gives more banana and cinnamon, with chocolate, caramel, booze and light char on the linger
M- medium-heavy body with medium carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that turns almost chewy into a warming finish
O- the banana, cinnamon and vanilla work well together. Not too sweet, well done

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a dense and slightly rocky two fingers of light tan head which fade slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of bananas, cinnamon, and vanilla with some slight roasted notes in the background
T: Taste is bananas, vanilla, and cinnamon up front with some roasted malts, light smoke, dark chocolate, and more bananas with a little more cinnamon and vanilla. On the finish there's more cinnamon, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate, charred wood, and bananas.
M: This beer has a body which is on the heavier side of medium with a silky to creamy feel on the palate. Carbonation is on the low side but it is adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this beer is definitely on the sweet side, but overall it's still very good. It has some really nice flavors and a good amount of complexity but the adjuncts are definitely the star of the show. This is probably a mood dependent beer as it isn't something I'd want to reach for often.

taste is better than average considering the abv but there's some of the funky adjunctiveness inherent with some of the flavors....

A very well balanced beer in which the flavors surprisingly, to me at least, work well together. I struggled with how to rate it. I think it is a good beer that is just too sweet for my taste.

16 oz. can poured into a snifter.
Near black with a thick creamy light brown head.
Nose: Banana and cream, a bit of cinnamon.
Taste: Cinnamon up front followed by banana and vanilla. Finish is pretty sweet, no alcohol presence at all.

Sweet, cinnamon-vanilla, and chocolate-banana nose on this one! Taste follows with a prominent sweet-banana and milk chocolate swallow...hint of cinnamon lingers a moment. Tastes almost like eating a very sweet, chocolate-banana Moon pie! Ha! Nice depth and soft, silky feel to this. This would be great barrel aged as the heat would balance out the sweetness. This is for you, if you like sweet drinks like me! Good!
