As a lover of the Tripel style, I was impressed to see this at Bellport Beer, after having tasted several of the other ales from The Bruery. It poured easily from my growler into my chalice with a quickly disappearing head and lace that descended with each taste.

My impression of the dark golden ale was that the flavor was creamy in a similar manner to some hefeweizens, but it stopped there and turned into splash of pepper, coriander, and brett.

It was very drinkable with an interesting and evolving taste that reminded me of great Belgian Tripels such Westmalle.

Draught at The Bruery's anniversary. Opaque gold color with a white head. Floral, leathery bretty yeast, and spicy hoppy aroma. The flavor is sweet with leathery, fruity, barnyard brett character, light maltiness, and a pleasing spiciness. Medium bodied. A pretty good tripel with a nice dry finish.

Sampled at the Bruery's 1st Anniversary party, reviewed from notes, served in one of their own tulip glasses, bright yellow color with some orange tint, 3/4 inch foamy white head, good retention, very nice lacing, aroma consisted of basil, sweet rice, Belgian yeast, funk, brett, cornmeal, barnyard, bread, citrus, and strong sugars, taste starts off with a lot of basil and the brett dries it out a bit with a sweet and spicy feel overall, middle is candied sugar mixed with soft malts, finish has a hint of booze but more of the basil and chewier malts in the backdrop, like how it is still slightly sweet with the brett making its presence known as well, sweet, spicy, and slightly warming mouthfeel, medium bodied, good amount of carbonation, taste lingers a long time, could drink a few glasses of this but the spice would probably get to me after a while, brett seems to help the drinkability out a bit but it is still pretty rough at times, hope to see more of this, recommended

On-tap at The Bruery, I don't know how available this will be, so feel free to correct me,

A: Pours yellow with a full cap of white foam, lacy.

S: Great complex notes of Brett funk, barnyard, basil, a great beer to smell and would go great with Asian cuisine.

T: Similar complex wet wool/sock barnyard from the Brett really come out initially. The rice lightens it up a bit and basil adds a terrific spicy note.

M: Smooth, silky alcohol with out it overtaking the flavour, medium-bodied.

D: I really liked this version of Trade Winds. The original is a great beer, but this one knocked my socks off. The Brett and the basil were just interconnected in a wealth of flavour that I greatly enjoyed.
