A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer which is topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger of deep tan head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of strawberries and cream ice cream with some hints of chocolate
T: Taste is strawberries, vanilla, chocolate, a little roasted malts, melted ice cream like sweetness and a hint of oak along with a touch of almonds. On the finish there's more strawberries, vanilla, chocolate, almonds, oak, and some lingering creamy sweetness.
M: This beer has a body which is on the upper side of medium with a very silky and creamy feel on the palate. Carbonation is on the soft side, but it is adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish due to the high abv
O: This beer is insane. Huge flavors, bold texture, and a nice amount of complexity. Alcohol is very well hidden. It's also held up very well since this came out in 2020. I'd like to see this one go into the rotation. Probably a little too sweet to take on a whole bottle solo but I think it avoids being cloying.

Galopin at la Binouze

Pours black with a tan head, leaves a ring.

Smell is pure chocolate bourbon sugar. Super sweet and dense. Followed by vanilla and light fruitiness.

Taste is the same, but maybe a tad too much. Crazy rich body. No bitterness, all sweetness.

Very rich, no clue it was 16 abv. It's sweet, not oily, but very sticky. Bubbles still rise.

First pours black, with a small tan head. The aroma has big notes of sweet creamy almond. Taste is sweet creamy almond, and a touch of strawberry. Good feel. Overall a big creamy and very sweet stout.

750 ml bottle, 2024 edition, bottled 12/18/23, label says 15.9% ABV. Served in a Bruery Hoarders chalice, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a little while. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted malt, vanilla, strawberries, cacao nibs, chocolate, almonds and some bourbon. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark bread and caramel flavors. Definitely a sweeter tasting brew! Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was pretty good overall, worth picking up especially if you like sweeter imperial stouts!

A- pours thick and black in color with a thin khaki head that has short retention before settling into a ring

S- aroma definitely has a neapolitan ice cream vibe; distinct aromas of creamy strawberry, milk chocolate and vanilla cream. Undertones of malted milk balls, amaretto, caramel chews and oaky bourbon

T- rich milk chocolate up front gives notes of brownie batter with nuts, followed by a bright yet creamy strawberry note that tastes just like ice cream. The finish brings out a creamy vanilla bean note, as well as chewy caramel candy. The linger gives light oaky bourbon, with more strawberry and chocolate lingering around

M- heavy body with low carbonation leads to an almost syrupy mouthfeel that continues into a velvety warming finish

O- as advertised, the chocolate, strawberry and vanilla are all there and it definitely has a creamy note to it as well, fantastic
