Unique from other maple projects in that this flavor is solely an exploration of wood. Already aged in bourbon barrels for a year, we then laid this massive imperial stout to rest in maple syrup barrels for additional aging. With over three years spent in barrels, we found the maple flavors to be big, bold, and sticky. Enjoy!

Double Barrel-Aged Finished In Maple Syrup Barrels pours black, with not too much head. The aroma is very sweet, with maple notes. The flavor is also sweet, lots of maple. Very thick feel. Oerall, big giant stout, with big giant maple flavors.

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer which is topped by a finger of light tan head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of some pretty intense barrel notes, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some hints of maple
T: Taste is roasted malts, oak, caramel, vanilla, coffee, and some maple sweetness that carries through the mid palate. The base beer battles back as well along with more barrel notes. On the finish there's more barrel notes, molasses, maple, dark chocolate, and coffee with some lingering oaky bitterness
M: This beer has a body which is on the heavier side of things and heavier than many Black Tuesday variants. Carbonation is light but it is also adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish due to the high ABV.
O: Overall this is a really well executed beer. The flavors are on point, fairly balanced, and there's no glaring faults. It's a big and complex beer. I wouldn't mind seeing this one come around again. The small can is a perfect size as well.

Look: Stygian dark with some cola highlights when held to light. As expected, little head at this abv.
Smell: a freakin blizzard of rich, roasty, toffee, vanilla, maple, chocolate.
Taste: like the nose. This is just transcendent
