375ml bottle poured into a teku
A- pours an almost opaque brown in color with a one-finger foamy off white head that reduces to leave nothing behind
S- the base beer gives aromas of brown bread, brown sugar, molasses, caramel, toffee. Undertones of cranberry, zesty orange, fruit cake, stewed cherries, cinnamon and bourbon barrel
T- sweet malty caramel, brown sugar and toffee up front quickly give way to a cranberry note that adds a light tartness. Mid-palate gives brown bread, fruit cake, candied orange peel and cinnamon. The finish brings out bourbon barrel, dark cherries and slightly tart cranberry. Lingers of caramel and barrel
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel and a slightly warming finish, abv hidden well
O- the spice additions work well with the base beer and the abv is hidden very well, given the abv

A: Poured into a snifter to a ruddy brown beer which is topped by a finger of light tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of warming cinnamon and orange zest along with other mulling spices. Smells like christmas in a glass
T: Taste is orange zest and toffee with some cranberry tartness along with a nice amount of cinnamon and other warming spices. Hints of dark fruit at times as well but the warming spices and orange are kind of running the show. Slight bourbon barrel notes at times as well with notes of oak and vanilla. On the swallow there's some tart cranberries, more toffee, dark fruits and more warming spices with some slight lingering orange notes.
M: This beer has a body which is on the heaver side of medium. Carbonation is more lively than expected for the style while the beer has a drying finish due to the ABV.
O: Overall this is a really interesting beer. It has some nice flavors along with a nice amount of complexity. There's also some really good balance of flavor as well. It may be a little adjunct heavy for some since it does seem to drown out the base beer a little, but it's still really nice. This would be a nice one to sip as the weather turns colder.
