A: Poured into a snifter to a dark brown beer which is topped by a finger and a half of dense and rocky off white head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of a mix of bourbon barrels, toffee, boysenberries, and some peanut butter
T: Taste is boysenberries, peanut butter, oak, toffee, caramel and vanilla. Nice adjunct flavors really hit the profile they were going for. On the finish there's more boysenberries, peanut butter, oak, toffee, caramel, and vanilla along with a touch of saltyness.
M: This beer has a body which is on the lighter side of medium. Carbonation is effervescent and bordering on being prickly while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is really good. It has some nice flavors and a good amount of complexity. I don't think the base beer is an American Barleywine as there's not much going on in the way of hops. The adjuncting is well done as well. They bring a lot of flavor but the base beer is still providing some flavor notes as well.

On tap at the bruery. Pours brown with a purple hint. Very little head. The nose is huge amounts of jam - blueberry and raspberry. Some nice toffee. Taste is sweet, definitely a barleywine. Toffee, chocolate, strawberry jam, some nuts, almonds, rice, bread. Really good

Man here I am a bit surprised that I am writing the first review for this beer on BA. Had it like 6 months ago. On tap. I've been reluctant to like many, if any "pbj" type beers. This one scores above average (for me).
Pours a brown color, not ultra dark, but more of a caramel brown like color. Beige head around 1/5" but doesn't retain. The aroma is bad ass, this really nails the PB & J aspect while keeping it totally drizzled with bourbon. Its a boozy throwback. But hot damn if I wasn't geeked at this stage of things. Just nailed the boysenberry jam and peanut butter.
Taste retreads back to where I am not geeked out, but I have to admit they did better with this one than their other PBJ beers. Looking at you out of the lunchbox. Even the light salt nuance is well done. Manages to pull of the Bruery "makes double digit abv" drink without stinging thing once again.
I think I would heavily recommend this to someone who likes big beers and PB & J. For someone like me, glad to try, well done beer, probably never gonna be my "jam". Tee hee.
