Mischief is a hoppy Belgian-style golden ale. This wickedly good golden ale is fiendishly dry-hopped with American hops to add a layer of complexity and mystery to its fruity, dry Belgian-style character. Citrus and resin diabolically combine with ripe melon, pear and slight peppery spice in a precariously effervescent mixture. Enjoy it, but you’ll want to keep an eye out. Gold Medal – 2016 Great American Beer Festival, American-Belgo-Style Ale.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a nice opaque orange with an abundance of white fluffy head. The nose is full of hop bitterness, orange, vanilla, pine, grass, and a bit of leather.
The taste is really nice. Smooth, with a nice hop bite on the aftertaste. Grass, caramel, oak, black pepper, wheat, lemon peel, and a nice layer of malts.
Overall, this is a nice smooth and spicy Belgian ale.

As advertised, it's a hoppier type of Belgian...
Though I don't shy away from hopped-up brews, I'm really not an IPA-guy. I prefer my brews less hopped, but I feel like I do appreciate the bitter-arts. All that said, though I liked the look of this beer - great, bright yellow hue with a thin foamy head; and I liked it's smell - very fruity to my nose; and the mouthfeel was crisp and surprisingly clean; the hoppy Belgian is something that I didn't find that appealing. Not to say it was bad, because it was not, but certainly I won't be on the lookout for this...

Mischief pours a darker golden color, with a large, long-lasting lacing head. The aroma is very earthy, but with some lovely candied spices mixed in. The flavor has a bold bitterness, earth, and then some sweet candied spice mixed in. Good feel. Overall, flavors are on the very opposite end, but they work well.

Clear, golden color with a big, white head. Citrus, Belgian yeasts, spices, and malt in a complex aroma. Malty, "Belgian" taste with a decent amount of American hops and pleasant hoppy bitterness. Crisp and dangerously easy to drink.

Let’s go! Regained access to my old account. First review almost 15 years ago when I could barely buy a beer now I’m a 35 year old dad. No real reviews for over a decade or so
Pours clear off yellow into a stemless wine glass. I’ve been reading some of my old reviews and I can’t believe I used to describe “lacing”. Looks nice in the glass though. Smells like yeasty Belgian hops. Tastes like yeasty Belgian hops. Pretty dry, some citrus. Really nice bitter dry finish. Lively character to it. I absolutely love that drinkability used to mean if I could drink 3 or 4 or even more of a beer. Brilliant to think I used to be able drink like that. Now I’m like yeah I’ll happily finish this pour and go to bed, the baby wakes up early!

16 ounce can poured into a Tulip.
Canned 10/17/23
L: Slightly hazy amber, lively pour, three finger bone-white head, good lacing.
S: Strong hoppy nose, fresh resinous hops, some fruity esters.
T: Resinous and hop forward with strong supporting malt character, very refined, hints of citrus and berry, yeast flavor is low overall.
F: Smooth and viscous medium-weight body, decently carbonated, becoming more creamy as the carbonation dissipates.
O: Good, but less Belgian yeast character than other examples of the style that I’ve tried.

Can dated 10/17/23 into pint glass. Pours a relatively clear light honey color with thin but durable off-white head. Initial impression is spicy hops, pine, and a bit of earthiness. Mouthfeel is clen and sharp. Finish fades to slightly prickly citrus. Refreshing.

Golden and crystal clear with two finger fluffy white head. Nose is earthy resinous hops with peppery Belgian yeast with floral overtones. Opens with a nice bitter earthy hops and grapefruit pith that folds into strong pear note with nice peppery yeast and ends with citrus pithy bitterness. Body is light to medium with medium carbonation. Ends dry with a lingering flora/pear and peppery notes. Overall a wonderfully balanced Belgian pale strong with lots of interesting notes from the hops and yeast and so dangerously drinkable.

I had this on draft 2/2/23 @ the Hopleaf.
Semi-opaque orange appearance.
Big off-white head; frothy, tree-rung lace.
Orange citrus, banana & tangy lemon notes in the nose.
Smells great! Medium mouthfeel.
Banana, orange citrus & lemon flavors.
Citrus forward but balanced by the banana notes. Killer!

Look: It pours golden with a bit of hazing. It has a white head with good head retention.
Smell: It is quite hoppy with citrus and light tropical notes. There are some grainy sweet notes in the background with very light earthly elements.
Taste: The flavor is a bit different from the aroma in that there is stronger earthly elements in the front with citrus. There is also a bit of pine in the flavors with a bit of grainy sweetness, light tropical notes and grapes.
Feel: It has a medium body with a bit of sweetness and bitterness in the finish.
Overall, the flavors are abundant and work well together in the Belgian Ale sense.
