750ml bottle poured into a snifter
Bottled Oct 2020
A- pours brown in color with a ruby hue, foamy off white head reduces to a ring
S- huge rum aroma up front with a bold rum soaked raisin note to compliment. As it warms, the bourbon barre emerges, adding oaky barrel juice, caramel, vanilla & brown sugar. Undertones of cinnamon, maple, molasses, banana & coconut
T- sweet and malty up front with a huge rum note that dominates, adding strong raisin notes, and hints of banana, brown sugar and molasses. Mid-palate brings out the bourbon barrel, adding barrel juice, caramel and vanilla. The finish brings out some chocolate and molasses, with a linger of cinnamon, rum and raisin
M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns slightly silky into a boozy, warming finish
O- a rum and raisin showcase, incredibly complex and gets better as it warms

A: Poured into a snifter to a deep brown beer which is nearly black. The beer is topped by a small off white head that fades fairly quickly without a trace.
S: Smells of cinnamon, vanilla, warming spices, raisins, and oak barrels along with some caramel and dark fruits
T: Taste is cinnamon, raisins, vanilla, oak, toasted malts, caramel, dark fruits, warming spices and a touch of leather. On the finish there's more cinnamon, vanilla, and raisins with more oak, dark fruits, and lingering caramel sweetness. As it warms the rum notes pick up a little more.
M: This beer has a moderate amount of heft on the palate with adequate carbonation that is just below prickly. The beer has a drying finish due to the high ABV.
O: This tastes very much like what they were going for. There's a good amount of rum influence while also packing a ton of smooth vanilla along with the raisin notes. It's also held up well to time since this was bottled back in 2020. Worth a try if you like big, boozy dessert beers.

750 ml wax capped bottle, 2020 vintage, bottled 10/29/20. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a dark reddish/brown color with about a half inch off-white head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing at all. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark fruit, rum, cinnamon, bourbon and vanilla. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some raisin, oak and earthy flavors. Good amount of barrel character. I think the dark fruit, rum and cinnamon stand out but don't overpower the other flavors. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's smooth and a bit syrupy with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall brew, definitely worth trying especially if you like rum, raisins and cinnamon.

Look: very dark amber. Modest tan red head on the pour that mostly disappears. No lacing, an oily sheen coats the side of the glass.
Smell: huge, complex nose like most of these Bruery gems, esp the multi year barrel offerings. Rum, and dark fruit, bourbon, vanilla, and raisin.
Taste: much like the nose, though the cinnamon comes through in the taste. Amazing brew.
