A: Poured into a snifter to a deep brown beer which is topped by a finger of off white head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of apples, cinnamon, other spices, and slight smoke with a touch of oak
T: Taste is surprisingly smoky on the front end before the apple, spices, and general sweetness of the base beer come in to add some balance along with some nice oak. On the finish there's more apples, spices, smoke, and oak with lingering sweetness.
M: This beer has a body which is on the heavier side of medium with a slightly syrupy feel. Carbonation is somewhat low, but it is adequate for the style. This beer has a slightly drying finish, but it is slightly cloying as well from the residual sugar.
O: Overall this is a pretty interesting and pleasant beer. The scotch barrel provides an interesting dimension and helps to check what would otherwise be a cloyingly sweet and syrupy beer. Good complexity and balance of flavors as well.

Another beer from late Spring '21.
Pours a light brown auburn like color. Makes about 1/2" off white/light beige head. Average retention/lace. The aroma leads with a warming alcohol, apple and cinnamon edge. The barrel(s) contribute both in terms of apple and boozy influence.
Taste continues to push apple to the forefront, which this is pretty heavily marketed as "apple" through and through, so its always nice to match up with your commercial tug job. Cinnamon is well done, right amount, perceptible without trying, but still a supporting, not lead role. The barrels begin to separate with each influence able to be dissected especially on the back end if you sip til it warms a tad. Mouth feel amazingly well done, 13% drinks pretty easy relatively speaking the entire time. There was no need for a palate adjustment, largely avoided that bitter/boozy punch kick combo.
Assertions of cider notes check out, drinks like a beer cider hybrid through both whiskey and brandy barrels. Complex and enjoyable.

750ml bottle poured into a snifter
A- pours a brown color with a one-finger foamy off-white head that reduces to leave a film floating on top
S- smells of apple cider spiced with cinnamon, reminiscent of a warm wassal. Undertones of apple brandy barrel adds notes of caramel red apples. I hint of whiskey barrel from the scotch.
T- sweet and malty up front with notes of cinnamon spiced apple cider, followed by a caramel apple sweetness, along with some bitter zesty lemon. The finish gives more malty sweet caramel notes with bold cinnamon and apple lingering long after the finish
M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a slightly creamy, warming finish
O- this reminds me of a warm spiced cider with a complimenting caramel note from the brandy barrel, a delicious slow sipper
