An ode to the classic cocktail, this double barrel-aged ale saw a second racking into scotch barrels. Treated with cherries, blood orange, and bitters, it hits all the warming, classic flavors of a Blood and Sand.

A: Poured into a snifter to a reddish brown beer which is topped by a small half finger of off white head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of definite notes of smoke with a touch of cherry and orange. Surprisingly muted and one note, but it smells like a smoky scotch barrel was used which will do that
T: Taste is cherries, oranges, and some strong smoky scotch barrel notes. Hints of tartness at times from the cherries. On the finish it's more smoke with some orange sweetness, cherries, and even more smoke.
M: This beer has a moderate amount of heft while the carbonation is soft yet adequate. The beer has a slightly drying finish.
O: Overall this is an interesting one. I wish the base beer would have been allowed to bring some things to the party but this one is driven mostly by adjuncts and a ton of smoke from the scotch barrel.
